Patty Schnyder retires yet again, but with almost 40 probably for good. I think she had a decent ITF-level career after her last return and decent USO run this year.
Is she only 40? She seems to have been a 30-something for years and years.
I admire the tenacity in her game. She was never a player who you would ''count out'' even if she were a set and a break down.
I liked her. Really, so many players I like seem to be retiring.
She is sending a strong signal to another Swiss player to retire
40 seems like a good age to hang up your racquet. Surprised she attempted such a late comeback really.

She's "hot" like ice cream. She's AZ's beard anyway.not when HE can play Hopman Cup with the hotter Ms Bencic
How 'bout full-time MOTHERHOOD...?! She has a daughter, you know. ;^)BPatty Schnyder retires yet again, but with almost 40 probably for good. I think she had a decent ITF-level career after her last return and decent USO run this year.
at her prime she owned Graff and Henin. She proved she was better than those two playersPatty Schnyder retires yet again, but with almost 40 probably for good. I think she had a decent ITF-level career after her last return and decent USO run this year.
is there a senior tour in WTA ?Did she mention a reason to retire?. I thought she just made a comeback this year?
I remember her for being an elegant lefty who got a relation with her much older coach. Like Seles who married with a much older man.
Maybe Patty had to find extra income to pay for her divorce. Now she could try on the senior tour so i could meet her
On the ITF there is: www.itftennis.com/seniorsis there a senior tour in WTA ?
Just imagine Germany vs Switzerland in the final mixed doubles match: two guys with beards, beard of one of them, and a clueless Fräuein Kerber in between. She's "hot" like ice cream. She's AZ's beard anyway.
Bitchy stuff. Love itI really liked her game. She had a lot of variety & lefty topspin, so she was very interesting to watch. But my fav PS moment was against Conchita Martinez. I only caught the end (in r/t) when she wouldn't shake her hand, and called her a bwitch, which was deleted from this 1 minute clip...
Meeee too. Hi, friend! She'll be missed for her athletic game, and world class bitchiness. That's what I want on my tombstone:Bitchy stuff. Love it

"SHE WAS A REAL *****. AND WE'LL MISS HER FOR IT."
Or engraved in script on my urn. ;^)B
I couldn't get it to load, but was that the one where he kicked Hantuckova's water bottles as he "exited"?! Classy guy. I think Patty was actually trying to be a "peace maker" that time. ;^)BSlightly unusual circumstances in another Schnyder match, this one from much later in her career. Partner Rainer Hofman also comes onto the court:
