Bionic Poster
Watching this, peak singing and dancing were what years? With him it's hard lol
I saw the threat title and came here to confirm that yes @MichaelNadal is at their peak of their ttw career
The "Thriller" album makes him the goat. The songs and especially the video. It was like super bowl sunday for mtv, everyone was watching
Even in "we are the world" he out shined the other greats, something magical aboot his voice
"You knock me off of my feet now baby"
Seriously though, even though I love Thriller and Bad and all that I always considered Off The Wall his best album. Dancing,I have no idea...
Thank you kind sir
Yeah I really feel his adult voice (heck and his child voice for that matter) are underrated af bc of his dancing, Michael's voice was crazy.
I know I am peak Michael right now.
'eary, damnz, day.
He was a mega talent but mentally deranged
I see you slaying the tennis
Peak Michael musically was 1983-86 (with 1991 stuck in there too), peak dancing Michael? I gotta go with this, his robot dance!Watching this, peak singing and dancing were what years? With him it's hard lol

Great voice but the music is too motown for me.

I'll probably regret sharing this but... I used to be a pretty decent moonwalker myself after studying dozens of MJ clips so trust me when I say the Dangerous tour was his absolute peak as a dancer. Certainly the meanest "Billie Jean." And I know other legs of the tour have their fans but to me the Bucharest performance remains the best:
No doubt he went all out knowing it'd be on HBO. In other performances he seems to be saving himself a bit.
And that's his musical peak as well, though here you need to rewind several years back to his Thriller heyday as the biggest superstar the world has ever seen (and is likely to see). Which is quite fitting because, as Ann Power has perceptively pointed out (even in a fairly critical article following the latest allegations), music and dance for MJ went hand in hand. Plus you really don't get what a perfect record MJ's signature song is until you strip it of its vocals:
That menacing bassline may be a sign of the ultimately career-ending paranoia to come - MJ's music has gotta be the darkest ever to achieve worldwide success - but it's impossible to imagine the song without it. That perfection informs much of his best work which makes him the most influential pop musician since the Beatles. (his only other rival in this respect is Elvis).
"The Way You Make Me Feel" is probably MJ's last great track that wasn't a paranoid anthem, but then I'm not sure he ever did anything after that can stand alongside his greatest hits from Off the Wall, Thriller and Bad. Maybe "Stranger in Moscow," though it lacks the exuberance of his best ballads ("She's Out of My Life" and "Human Nature," neither of which, it bears mention, was written by MJ).

Is or was?
Michael's peak boxing performance:
Yes,kids nowadays may not fully appreciate just how big a star he actually was. I grew up in the 90s,and there were other colossal superstars such as Madonna or Tom Cruise or even another MJ who was quickly becoming the GOAT of his sport but Michael Jackson towered over all of them in terms of worldwide fame
Yo, that Bucharest Moonwalk was MEAN. He was fn FLYING. Had to be going 10mph
This is probably his most underrated song along with Stranger In Moscow imo
I seriously doubt there has been anyone more famous at any point in world history. You might recall moi talking up the other MJ phenomenon but even Jordan was no match for Jackson as basketball (or any other sport for that matter, yes even soccer/football) occupies a lower rung in the popular imagination than music. And it's virtually impossible to imagine anyone with such a commanding global presence in this day and age. Maybe Obama or Trump comes close, but I still remember an old college roomie from Ghana telling me, to my astonishment, that many Africans don't know what POTUS or the pope even looks like, while just about everyone knew MJ or even Madonna. Of course you could say both of Bush's successors attained celebrity status a long time ago (Donald especially), but how many people do you know in your life who barely follow politics to begin with? Let's say I've got my doubts.
(BTW my fave memory of this parlor game, if that's the right way to put it, was seeing Diana up there with this A-list of A-listers. I can tell you for a fact that I'd never even heard of her before coming to the US, and yet the British tabloids got enough people in the West convinced that this historical nonentity deserved mention alongside Bill Clinton, Pope John Paul II, the two MJs and the rest. Talk about parochialism at its finest.)
"Stranger" is probably his very best song from his late period, clearly a 1st-rate ballad. I still miss the emotional immediacy of his best slow burns, though, and could definitely do without those "hees!"
And I don't think "Human Nature" is underrated. Maybe by the hacks who see the name Steve Porcaro and go, "The guy used to be a member of friggin' Toto," but they're very much in the minority.
You really know about that.He was a mega talent but mentally deranged
Child molester. Close thread.MJ was one of the rare child singer/performers that became more popular as he got older into adulthood. A superstar performer.
"Who's the king?"
peak Micheal is the chicken wings loving, Marshall adoring, slaying, Vamosalaplaying epic TTW poster.
Peak dancing: Probably Smooth Criminal for me.
Peak singing: Thriller/ Bad - mostly because that will stand as the essence of his work.
5 #1 Billboard singles from the Bad album. Sick!
Did you say you’re a black dude ???I saw the MJ show at the MGM last year
It was good

I have had some very insightful conversations about the Cosmos
So iconic,he had the best entrances. Love when he froze in one spot while the crowd went absolutely nuts

This is probably as open as he ever got, some crazy things said on these tapes made me feel bad for him but at the same time understand a bit.
