Sure, I miss it a little, although I don't care about my ratios. If it's a choice, then bring back intelligent, respectful...and even insightful...discussions. (not sure about the "back" part.)
I'm not missing it. I think 'likes' in general diminish the quality of the discussion, but I'm fine if it returns.
correct ...but i wanted that guy to answer it.People are so used to showing what they agree to all the time, they dont understand that it really doesnt mean anything. They think instant agreement is something important and needed.
born to die? you surely don't mean that dying is the purpose. and if it's not, then you should try to act at least neutral in life. It's good for nothing really. It just gives you illusion of happy feelings. Also there's no point in living because you were born to die.
I also been using the like funtion to show support. But I know it doesnt really mean anything or has any impact on anything substantial.correct ...but i wanted that guy to answer it.
they think that a mere opinion - so without any reasoning - is valuable in any way.
in a political election that would be true, but not in a totally open discussion.
i don't blame people (the stupid masses) for it though. they just consume what was offered to them. it's too easy.
i use the Like button too sometimes. usually if somebody posts something funny or informative. fun/banter is not exactly something that needs special support on a tennis forum though, so i could also do without the Likes there. as for the informative stuff, unfortunately that is not what gets one many Likes ( ). but one can quote/re-post it (or elaborate analyses or interesting content etc) and that's even better eventually.

if the Like feature is not a positive thing and not neutral, then it's bad.
and especially on here it's mostly abused as a weapon in fan wars.
Bring it back.
This ain't 1995.
Yahoo chat on my Pentium 3.
Still got those chicks on MSN Messenger
Function is ideally positive and used to express positive reaction but everything can be abused. Some will like what they genuinely like. Some will like dumb stuff, average stuff, smart stuff, funny stuff. Discussion comes mostly from discourse so it's not endangered by like feature.if the Like feature is not a positive thing and not neutral, then it's bad.

Well, Nadal has biggest fanbase worldwide, facebook and twitter confirm this, as does queue ratings at events ive been to. However on this site Federer has the most posters who support him that is undeniable. Can also be he belongs to the biggest fan group and therefor gets more likes.
That itself says how the like function doesnt tell the full story. Just because something gets likes doesnt mean its better or more truthful than something that get less likes.
We also like things because we are partial beings and to show which group we belong to. Which is often not so good in the big picture. Makes the gap bigger in a world we should rather communicate and unify.
Get the feeling it was removed as too many pro Nadal and Djokovic posts were getting likes and too many Federer the 3rd wheel posts were popular.I really, really want it back!
Let me know if you start running out of tin foil, I'll hook you up.Get the feeling it was removed as too many pro Nadal and Djokovic posts were getting likes and too many Federer the 3rd wheel posts were popular.
andddd I’ve been waiting for someone to like this comment ha hahah..I tried to like this....
No, not a single person was discussing that. However it's rich coming from someone who can't post a sentence without an emoji.People seriously discussing how the number of likes tells something about their posting, and even the fact that they notice is one of the proofs that the like feature does much more damage than brings potential positives.
Like.I liked being able to lazily agree with people by clicking the "Like" button. I didn't care much for the other reactions
Please bring it back
Like +1.Like.
Please bring the like button back. Without it I receive no other validation in life.
PLEASE
Unfortunately, he was right. Pantera and I were talking about it.No, not a single person was discussing that. However it's rich coming from someone who can't post a sentence without an emoji.
It's the timing that was so weird. Why update the forum and give us all those options, only to take them all away?I don't think the many other options that were recently added (love, dislike, lol) were needed, but they should keep the like. Very weird decision.
