How awesome would it be if someone leanred to play tennis with a baseball bat?
No need for strings, serves would be awesome, and the forehands would shatter everything...too bad it's like impossible...I would probably end up bunting

A baseball bat is about 2.5 pounds on average. You're gonna need a monster of a man with incredible coordination.

Huh? A 40 oz. bat???? You don't believe that, do you? Not since Babe Ruth or maybe Dick Allen in the 70's has anyone used a bat that heavy. The "average" these days is 32 or 33 oz.-even the big guys use a little swagger stick to generate tremendous bat speed.

Nice idea. However, unless you found a way to generate immense topspin, you would have to hit each ball down, like on an overhead, to even have a chance of keeping it in. Unless you bunted, but it might still go long.

Agree with skipper.

Not to mention the fact that the "sweet spot" on the bat would be incredibly powerful/hard to hit consistently and send the ball way over the fence. Ever tried a home run derby with a tennis ball? Plus, how in the world would you serve?

Although it is not the same thing, when I was younger I used to practive my Baseball Fielding on the Tennis Court.

I'd have friends blast the Tennis Ball at me so I could work on reaction time and short hops.

Overall it was rather effective. Unfortunately my fielding was far superior to my hitting, as I was always a singles hitter at best.

Think you'll be using any top spin?
