Poly Tour Drive vs Poly Tour Spin

anyone use both? seemingly the Poly Tour Spin would be an upgrade but I haven't used Drive and I imagine if you like firmer strings you might prefer Drive?

Spin is also 5 sided while Drive is 8 sided. curious, I have a student that uses Drive but I can offer Spin for same price she was paying for Drive but price of string isn't necessarily upgrading

Currently comparing drive and strike.
Not entirely what you're asking, but nonetheless.
After 3 hours drive has good spin and isn't uncomfortable. I don't think it possesses as much control as strike but definitely has nice lift.
I've read complaints about tension maintenance with drive, but I only have 3 hours of play time so far.

One interesting note is that drive is made in Taiwan vs strike (and other yonex strings) which are made in Japan.
One could argue drive is cheaper or made with cheaper materials? Hard to say for sure.

Strike is their premium offering and stiffer than PTP (which i think Spin is as well) so it is still a good baseline in comparing the budget offering from Yonex with their premium.

Yes Drive is supposed to be a lower tier string so no surprise it is manufactured outside of Japan. wholesale on Drive is alarmingly affordable...cheaper than s gut

thanks for your input!

Both have awful tension maintenance. Spin notches really quickly which only results in more tension loss.

My student breaks the strings pretty quickly. She’s using 16L in an extreme MP a pretty open string pattern. Tension maintenance isn’t a concern

And personally I use solinco which notch quick too. I like it when it notches so I’m an outlier maybe.

Spin breaks much faster than drive. None of the Yonex strings I’ve tried last long. They tend to notch quickly and snap.
