Us Aussies aren't usually good on clay, the only exception to the rule in the last 25 years or so has been Sam Stosur and then Ash Barty. But De Minaur grew up and trained in Spain so he's shown to have some understanding of the red dirt.
The demon is fun to watch. Court coverage is fantastic. I never really paid much attention to his performances on clay though. He normally sticks out on the hard courts

I think he wins one, no more. Will go deep at RG
Might be a bit much to see him win Monte Carlo after a deep run in Indian wells and Miami championship. Think he’ll defend his points to the SF. Qtr final loss at worse.
He’ll probably skip Barcelona and play Madrid and Rome.

I think he’ll win Rome. I think he’ll be tired at MC as well

Perhaps I'm gonna be trolled a lot after this, but still here we go -

Monte Carlo Master's 1000 - Carlos Alcaraz Garfia
Barcelona 500 - Carlos Alcaraz Garfia
Madrid Master's 1000 - Jannik Sinner
Rome Master's 1000 - Carlos Alcaraz Garfia
Roland Garros - Carlos Alcaraz Garfia

Sinner in Madrid? With that disgusting pollen allergy? He won’t win 2 matches with that niggling condition

As I said - "I'm gonna be trolled a lot"
However, I feel that Madrid courts are the best clay courts for Sinner's current gamestyle.
Yes for sure but he has an ailment. He lost to Felix Auger Aliassime in straights 2 years ago, I think he only won 5 games or something but FAA owned him, and Sinner was the overwhelming favorite for that match, he lost purely due to the pollen allergy

FAA was on the rise in 2022 nevertheless, gave both of Djokovic and Rafa their toughest matches at Rome & RG.

What was Sinner's result at Madrid 2023?

He didn’t participate in Madrid, as I said, he doesn’t like the pollen. He is badly affected by it

Perhaps he can get a temporary solution for that, surely Medical Science has advanced that much to keep allergic reactions to a minimum for a certain period of time.

@Rafa4LifeEver i don’t think Sinner has won 3 matches in a row in Madrid. If he doesn’t do something about the pollen allergy this year, despite his brilliant tennis he won’t win the title. I’m more comfortable with him winning Rome.

Legend
But Rome doesn't suit his current gamestyle that much.
He made a QF against Tsitsipas with a blistered foot in 2022 and he almost defeated peak Zverev with blistered feet in Monte Carlo 2022, I don’t doubt his ability on slow clay, but in Madrid it won’t happen given his ailment even though theoretically he should play best there.

Legend
@Rafa4LifeEver Sinner suffers from bad hay fever and his clay results suffer because of it, during the time clay is played.

Why’d you think he made the QF at RG in 2020? Because RG was played in October

Also the Umag win over Alcaraz, when was it played? Like in July? That’s when he doesn’t have hay fever and is able to play his best

interestingly enough, in their first race in tokyo drift, dk was cool and sean was nervous and not confident, dk won it, but, in the second race, otoh, sean was calm while dk was nervous, sean won eventually

Alright man.
Let's see what happens

Nadal will win Roland Garros 2024 without dropping a set, this will be his most dominant performance since 2020.

Then Nadal will announce that he is feeling perfectly healthy and plans to play tennis for another 3-4 years.

dking68

Legend
Ahh then he won’t play Madrid if he doesn’t have points to defend. He won’t play Barcelona then either.
I think he wants to give himself every chance to participate in a Masters event. I think he’ll play but due to his ailment (hay fever) I don’t think we’ll see much success from him in Madrid, hope he proves me wrong

Is Nadal healthy and playing? That could potentially change the whole outcome if he doesn’t dislocate a hip or something. Nadal with little preparation is still a nightmare for anyone on clay. I would need to see what Nadal is doing first
Maybe. Idk what form nadal would be in. Mentally I think he’s been not so confident knowing he’d probably be in an early round exit form.

Yeah, I was just being sarcastic for april fool's day

Movement is the king in tennis and that's where Djokovic clinched the slam race, Nadal's movement and speed was long gone and it's a miracle that he's trailing hy only two slams and even had a slam lead for a while. I think we will see a better version of previous baseliner if Sinner can move as big as prime big 3 and serve as good as Fed.

Monte Carlo - Sinner
Barcelona - Alcaraz
Madrid - Alcaraz
Rome - Djokovic
Roland Garros - Alcaraz

Until I've seen otherwise as long as Djokovic is there he has a shot, especially at Rome. I think Alcaraz wins the French Open and Sinner wins Monte Carlo, Nadal could do well only if he hits the ground running upon return.

Alcaraz for me is the man to beat during this Clay swing, Sinner has room for improvement on Clay and I might be underestimating him.

Plus Djokovic I can't write him off completely unless he falls early in all the tournaments he participates in.

Back to back masters for Sinner?
Yes. He has lost one match this season and is now a mental monster who believes he is the best. He and Alcaraz are going to push each other to ever more amazing heights. Both are excellent on clay and more natural on clay than any of the players outside Nadal and Djokovic so i fully expect them to utterly dominate the clay court swing.

Won’t be surprised if Nadal sweeps the clay season and win RG without losing a set. Half baked Nadal is good enough for RG.

Sinner and Alcaraz are moving the sport on from Nadal and Djokovic. That is how it should be as well each generation. Sinner and Alcaraz can hit the shots Nadal and Djokovic did but harder and now make less UFE's each week they seem to play and are probably better volleyers than Nadal and Djokovic were at the same age. The both move as well if not better than either did even at their peak, again to be expected as sports science improves each year incrementally.
Nadal isnt sweeping anything at 37/38. He doesnt need to either, he perfected the sport and achieved everything he could as did Federer and Djokovic. Time and life moves on.
It is Sinner and Alcaraz time. Enjoy it.

listen if Nadal makes it to RG, the only ones i imagine who could take a SET off him are Alcaraz, Nole, Zverev, or Tsitsipas. Don’t care about the winners of the warm up but I’ll play along

Monte Carlo: Alcaraz
Barcelona: Alcarez
Madrid: Sinner
Rome: Zverev
French Open: Nadal “if healthy”

Edit: forgot to add Sinner as someone who can take a set off Nadal at RG

16 out of the 17 finals Sinner played were on HC. I'll be the first to tip my hat if he wins a M1000 clay title. I think Alcaraz is the favorite at Barcelona, Madrid, and RG. I wouldn't be shocked if Djokovic wins another Rome title if he slowly gets back to peak level in the later stage of the clay season. MC being early in the clay season and adverse tricky conditions might allow for a dark horse. The likely favorite will be Sinner or Tsitsipas; and dark horse will be Sebastian Baez.
