Prince Frames For a Lighter C10 Pro Replacement

Over the past year I've been switching back and forth between my C10 Pro's and my V8 Pro's. I've recently settled on my C10 Pro's after a some arm issues with the V8 Pro after 4 long sets (history of ulnar nerve issues).

What I've loved about the C10 Pro is the addictive control, brilliant touch, forgiveness on off-centre hits, soft feel, and being able to hit almost any shot I want with it. However I am considering a switch to something else because I'm struggling to rip heavy topspin 1HBH's with it (find it way easier with the V8 Pro). I'm also wanting something lighter that I can weight up to roughly 325 unstrung with a leather grip and maybe some lead. Part of me also really just wants a shiny new toy (which I'm sure many here can relate to).

Tennis Only have a pretty nice sale on Prince racquets and I'm heavily considering the Phantom 100g and Phantom 100p (unfortunately the 100x 305 is sold out) as they are softer frames. I'm ruling out the 100x 18x20 as I am predominately a heavy topspin player who would prefer a more open pattern and there is never enough string in sets for the 18x20 pattern in a 100 head (as per my V8 Pro) when using my stringing machine. I've also considered the 97, but again I'm more inclined for a lighter stick I can add a leather grip to, and I've heard the sweet spot is small and I'd probably benefit more from the forgiveness of a 100. I'd appreciate anyone's experience comparing them to the C10 Pro if possible. I've heard some say (including players from the TW demo) that flatter shots are hard to control with this frame, so any insight in to that in particular would be appreciated.

I was hoping the new V-Cell 10 300g would be the answer, but unfortunately it wasn't to be.

If you can, wait for the 100x 305 to come back in stock. It’s definitely the cleanest transition from a C10. Especially for the traits you’re looking to maintain.

If you’re willing to go off the menu, look at the ProKennex Black Ace 2020 series racquets. Those should have all the traits you’re seeking...if they pack enough wallop for your 1hbh. If not, wait a few days for the new Q series sticks and demo a Q+5.

I would say the 97p is my favorite from the phantom line. I normally like a higher sw but that racket just sings stock. The small sweetspot is completely false. I never seem to mishit or miss the sweetspot. The flex is so uniform to me that I don't even feel like it is flexible in a good way. If you play an attacking style and move forward this is the best phantom. I also find it the most powerful phantom but the most pinpoint also. It is a 16x18 but with 8 mains in the throat, it is the best of both worlds.

As I said it before it's the best sub 100sq inch racquet on the market at the moment...

Wow can't believe I didn't see this thread. Should've checked haha. But wow, I really hope this is happening.

I'm mostly a heavy topspin grinder, but I do like to play aggressive and also serve volley at times. One thing about the C10 Pro is that I feel so comfortable really going for my forehand with it - it encourages extra aggression in my game. I'm glad the small sweet spot is a myth and that's starting to convince me to put this frame back on the radar. Could you make some comparisons with the 97p, mostly how it swings and stability vs the C10 Pro? I've read from other users the stock grip on the phantoms are pretty heavy already, so hopefully replacing it with leather won't be noticeable weight wise.
