Hello everyone!

I have been playing tennis since high school and I have developed a style with more control over power. I prefer placement and love using my serve and volley to my advantage. It has been about a year since I have switched to the head graphene prestige rev pro. The major down side I have with this racquet is the weight and distance I put on the ball. I feel I can be overpowered easily when hitting with this racquet. The lack of weight also takes away from my serve :/ I recently heard about the pro kennex heritage type c93 redondo mid. I have always been fond of racquet head sizes 95 sq. in and below so the another 93 sounded very tempting! Please provide any opinions on these two racquets in terms or how they compare in similarity, differences, and anything in between! Thank you! Also, I will demo the pro kennex heritage type c93 redondo mid and head graphene prestige pro to see if I can find a racquet to fix my issue with the head graphene prestige rev pro.

Compare the headsize of that rev pro to a 95. it's really close. really opens up your options. if you're looking for more power, I just don't think the Redondo mid is gonna be the answer.

People have told me the Redondo Mid is actually closer to 89sq" and Mid+ is a 95sq".

Anyway you can add lead tape to your Rev Pro.

I haven't played with the Rev Pro, but assuming racquets would be to spec, the Redondo is almost 30 grams heavier. That's a huge step up. Personally, I like how the Redondo plays, but I do find it to be a tad heavy for long sessions. It also has an 18x20 string pattern, which means with all other things being equal, it will be less powerful and less spiny, with a lower launch angle.

Adding weight to the handle would probably bring your Rev pro closer to Redondo behaviour, although 30 grams makes for a crapload of lead tape.

Ah I see I see. I noticed heavy racquets help me with my serve with that extra weight to come down on the ball. The swingweight is generally the same for the rev pro and pro kennex hence I wanted to see people's opinion.

Hi Kiyomaru, I understand your comments and where you are coming from, Im the exact same. I'm a classic racket guy, control and weight (plow thru) over pure power (pop). I had been trying out all these 'new school' rackets (lighter weight & power) just out of interest. I haven't played with the Head Graphene Prestige Rev Pro, but I've hit with the Graphene Prestige Pro (And similar), and although I do like the racket, I do struggle with depth on my groundstrokes, I lose a lot of put away power, and certainly miss a bit of zing in my serve. I'm a little more consistent with the Prestige Pro which is nice, and maneuverability is way better, so very good (for me) at the net. Anyway, nice rackets, but i'm so used to the Weight of classic Rackets and the Kennex Redondo 93 is definitely a classic. I purchased one from TW, as I really like true classic rackets, and to try/collect (Cant demo in my country). Anyway, this racket is the definition of a classic Control racket. If you are a big server, this is the type of racket you will like/love...93 sq inch and 18x20 string pattern...to me, this racket is built to serve big aces.... You will not get pushed around with this stick, Groundstrokes will have some good depth, and the Backhand slice (approach shot..;-) is so fun.
The Trade off is that, it's not as easy (heavy and your arm can get tired) to play with then the Head Graphene Prestige.
BTW, thanks to TW for offering these 'gems'; Kennex Redondo and ProStaff 85..

Ah I see I see! This was very informative thank you! I guess I'll have to work out more so my arms don't get tired aha oh! Maybe you can confirm this for me! Someone one this thread heard that the Redondo mid is closer to 89 sq. Inch and the Redondo midplus closer to 95 sq. Inch. Is this true???

Volkl Organix 10 Mid is your answer. Forgiveness of a 98. Precision of a 93. Pop of a 98-100. Stability of Prostaff 90.

I have read a few comments about people questioning the exact true size of rackets, and to me, it isn't a big deal, if the Redondo is called a 93 or a 89, or if it's 93 sq inch or 89 sq inch. There is naturally a marketing element in what size you call it. But to me, it simply plays and feels and serves :) like a 90-93 as opposed to a 98-100. I would not notice the difference between a 90 and 93 anyway...equally, if the 93 was actually closer to 90, then even better, would explain why its such a solid racket...

Unless you are pure S&V the Red98 is better overall in my view. The 93 & 98 are similar but the 98 is nicer everywhere except 1st serves (flat/slice) and volleys. If you prefer kick serve go 98. Basically same except the bigger head gives larger sweet spot and little more power/spin. I'd go 98 in doubles where reaction volleys are required more often.

The old Head mids and the redondo 93's are more like 89. The current Rev Pro has noticeably more stringbed, despite also being labeled a 93. It is basically a SLIGHTLY more narrow 95.

Would you happen to know how the 98 compares in size???

hmm I see I see. The only thing that concerns me is the 1st serves :/
