Of all the top pro's of the open era Ivan Lendl is the only player with a 1 handed backhand who dominated the game from the backcourt that i can think of.

lets look at the other dominant players with a 1 handed backhand-

mcenroe- incredible volley
rafter-great volley
sampras-great
becker-great volley
kreijeck-good
edberg-incredible volley

can anyone think of another player who at least won a slam who dominated from the backcourt with a 1 handed backhand a la Ivan Lendl?

I know James Blake has never dominated the game, but he's a 1hander and I don't think he's remotely good at net. His game is mostly baseline, and when he's on he's hot. I do think that he'd have a better ranking and finish better in tournaments if he improved his net game.

i was thinking more of the open era when the 2 handed backhand became more popular- ivan lendl is the only great/dominant player with a 1 handed backhand who had a crappy volley.

well i know federer has a pretty good volley, but he stays mostly in the back nowadays, mauresmo? henin? didn't borg have like some sort of half/half?

Legend
Petr Korda (Australian Open). If he was on, there was no stopping him.

How about Guga? 3 FOs and was pretty dominant from the backcourt.
