Prostaff ROK!!

i have two, both say midplus.

and for those that say the ROK is just a prestige copy, i bet most of them have never hit with it. imo, the ROK is better than the prestige. i prefer its balance and flexibility over any of the prestige models i own/tried. i dont know why this racquet gets no love. i got two for $25 a piece, and they r two of the best racquets ive ever hit with. i guess one man's trash is another man's treasure.
Wilson was trying to copy the Prestige, but obviously the ROK was not close enough to the Prestige and that's why it died. I agree that the ROK is much better than the Prestige. At least, I prefer it much more over the Prestige.

BTW, where did you find the ROK for only $25?

Are you trying to be funny? Did you even understand what I was trying to say?

Could your "midplus" ROK POSSIBLY be 100+ square inches, or a non-us model? If it were the 92-93 sq. in. head, then is the shape of the racket-head square shaped like a yonex, or is it round like a wilson? I just doubt that Wilson would print "Midplus" on the ROK 92/93. That is all I am saying.

Looks to me like AlpineCadet has been owned!! :)

How did I get owned? Anyway, you got owned a few replies back. ;)

Maybe yours is the one that's a fake? Just asking.
Bought it from DireDesire.

My ROK has midplus at the bottom of the hoop too. This racquet is larger than the Head 600cm2 racquets.

Because you kept harping that if it says "Midplus" on it that it must be a fake.

How did I get owned? I don't even own a ROK so made no comments about what is stamped on the frame. I was differentiating the racquet I've played with and liked with the larger version which I have never played with so have no comment about.
Bought it from DireDesire.
But how does that prove that it's not a fake?

Maybe he has a fake, or it just might be a non-US version.

If your racket says "Midplus" on it, then it probably can't be a true ProStaff ROK with a 92-93 Sq. Inch head.

My racket does not say Midplus on it, and I continued to state what I believe. If you want to call it harping and say I got owned, that's fine. Who knows, maybe SF has a fake?

For reference the racquet was bought about 2 years ago from "Znoopie." He about about five or more of them, I think.

It can't be. I have the Wilson holographic barcode at the bottom of the outside throat.

Mine has a hologram as well.

Re-read the post Einstein. I said it states midplus on the inside of the head and also states it's 600 sq. cm and 93 sq. in. in the throat.

The guy I ultimately sold it to said that there were two batches of the ROK that had subtle differences in the PJ, mayb the one AC has is from a diff batch?

Yeah, I agree... but it's funny that he assumed his was the normal/real one... when actually, his is the exception by not stating midplus on the head.

Difference in Rok mid versions

I've owned several Roks and currently have 7 of them (for sale, by the way). GREAT racquet. I prefer it to just about everything out there except FXP prestige mid and MG prestige mid. Early versions are marked "hyper carbon double braided" on the side. Later versions are marked "Wilson" and are about 10g lighter, on average. I think this translates to about .4oz, so not a subtle difference. And yes, I know this from first hand experience with several of them. Ad is on the classified forum.

My ROK is way more superior than your ROK. ;) You know why? Because I'm holding it.

Where exactly did you say that "it's 600 sq. cm and 93 sq. in. in the throat?" Exactly, you didn't, Einstein.:oops:

I believe it was implied well enough to clearly understand, Wilson racquet of this era like now are printed on the inside of the throat.

Lol! Is that YOUR new rule?

The older Midplus POG is 93 sq. in. They may label it mid, these days, though. The ROK states 93 sq. in. and 600 sq. cm. and the weight and balance match spec. It's real, trust me. Next, they'll be labeling 95 sq. in. racquets Mid.

I just passed on two mid Hyper pro staff rok at a used sporting goods store. They were NEW and never strung. They had a few shop marks on the frame. The price........$14/each unstrung of course.

Should I go back and buy them? No racquet bags.

What about the 4 1/8 grip size? They could be built up couldn't they? I'll go buy them and sell them somewhere. I'll either post them here or on an auction site that you may have seen. Keep your eyes open.

The Rok has been my main racket for the last 3 years. I feel that's it weight, flex, and control suits my game better than most midsize frames that I've used. The only racket that I would place above it is the Volkl Tour 10 VE mid. It has everything that the Rok does, but with a little more comfort.

Woooo, a ROK thread/club! For a while I didn't know anyone gave a rat's az$ about these anymore...

Just returned to playing again after a 12 year hiatus. Picked this up at one of the only 3 tennis shops I can find in Taipei (sad, I know) a month ago. Closest one I could find that plays like the softer sticks I used back then. Didn't really know how to string it, so I've got 16ga RIP Control at 55 on it right now. I'll probably go with a 17 or 18 multi next time around at the same tension.

Love how the control and comfort so far, but still trying to get back into form, so I'm shanking my fair share of balls :( Eh, my fault, not the racquets.

Hey man, where are you in Taipei? I actually picked up my ROK at the pro shop near the Taiwan University Hospital (the 228 park)
