Hello and first of all many thanks to the admins to approved my Account.

Shortly Overview of mine, I am a big Thomas Muster Fan from Austria and this is why I open this Thread, in hope anybody
can answer my Question or help me in this case.

I collect, next to the different Lotto Apparel Thomas Muster use in his career, primary his Racquets.
Luckily I can say I have all of them, EXCEPT...the very first one in his career cause I am not really sure which Model he use?

In my Opinion its a AMF Head Graphite Pro Mid - Special Edition but I am not sure about.
Company Head does not give me a answer on my request yet, but for sure I think they have something better to do than work on my Request :)

So back to my Question...does anybody knows maybe the first Racquet Model using by Thomas Muster from 1985 to 1987?

Many thanks and sorry if my English is badly, does not have much opportunities for practice my skills.

Hello, its great to see another Muster enthusiasts. I too have always had a lot of interest in his equipment.

If you have a chance to message, I would be happy to discuss a few cool items! Cheers!

I personally had one of the Green/Silver Prestige, I absolutely love this frame, have never found another racquet that I loved playing with more.

I wish was still able to get the NON-CAP grommet strip (say in blk) so that o could replicate that set up with a later model. I think they did some for the extended prestige models, but never seen one (and extended prestige), in over a decade to be sure it that was the case.

@ozbikebuddy and subway tennis...

except Prestige I, Prestige II and PC600 silver /green, I played with all of them...but not with the racquets on picture, I was have same models over the years which I played with.
The frames on picture are just collectible, some in almost new condition, some in good used condition...as you correct say ozbikebuddy...I could curse myself about all the racquets
I broke and give away during my teenager years.

Honestly I am not a big Fan of the Kneissl Frames, none of them...what I love is the sound of the Prestige Tour 600 and its a great racquet but not for daily use, at least for me.
Actually I use the PT630, also great racquet...we are not the best friends yet but I will work on my skills :-D

The first time I heard of the PT600 saber sound was at the AO vs Macca on grass, never forget that sound
specially with LeConte fast swings just an aural enjoyment way above listening to suffering grunts.

It was a Prestige Pro 600. The Prestige Tour 600 didn’t come out until 1993 and had the Suspension Grip. Leconte never used that particular model.

So PP was the grandfather of the PT and was the shape and design night and day?
Never watched Star Wars but friends said it sounded like a light saber

I love the Neu Green Prestige Pro 600. It’s an awesome looking frame. I have mine with full green CAP System Grommets.

like an offspring of Blade and Prince TT.

Love to see an Arthur Ashe Anniversary Revamped version
with the same metallic and graphite finishing but later Midsize

The mold of the Prestige Pro, Prestige Tour 600 and Prestige Classic 600 are all exactly the same. The difference of the Prestige Tour 600 is that it has the Suspension Grip. I would describe the sound as a whistle not like a light saber.
That Arthur Ashe anniversary racket is graphite composite, it is NOT an aluminum sandwich construction like the originals and is from the same exact mold as the Graphite Pro.

I play with that, the Classic, the red Prestige Pro 600 and then new modern Auxetic Prestige Pro
As we are basically talking of the same racket - a Prestige of the 80s VS a Prestige of the 2020s - how would you explain the difference between a classic feel and a modern feel? I've tried "modern frames" over the years, and I still much prefer classic frames to modern ones, even in the same category...

Density, flex and vibration frequency? Classics are a bit smaller, thinner and heavier, so inevitably modern versions are more hollow, stiffer and have higher vibration frequency.

Well, the new Auxetic Prestige Pro is actually very plush and the frequency of vibration is similar. I also have the Auxetic Prestige Pro matches to my specs. So it is matched to my Prestige Pro 600/Prestige Classic 600. That goes a long way in being able to play with the new modern Prestige. The new modern Prestige in my opinion has a very Classic feel. It’s not one of these modern rackets that feels stiffer than the numbers on the spec sheet. It plays right for me.

whistle yes big difference! had to look up a sound vid for making such an incorrect comparison as Im so lacking in american mono culture.

The mold of PP PT and PC as it seems over time all looked the same, beautiful and effective designs.
Would there be a term to encompass all of these molds rather than letters/digits?

I really like the Prestige Tour 95 almost as it is vs my leaded up Dunlop CX 200. How do you fellas compare the CX200 to the PT 95?
In my case I like the PT for my OHBH but prefer the CX for my FH and overall feel seems plusher.

What Prestige Tour 95 are you referring to? There was the Prestige Tour 600 and Prestige Tour 660. The 600 was 89.5sq.in and the 660 was 102 sq.in. The Prestige Tour 95 is that Graphene 360+ or Auxetic ?

That’s very different form the original Prestige Tour 600 and 660 from 1993

Sure is but its had great response from original PT600 fans including myself, even considered a Dunlop cx PJ to abide with our club sponsor.
I never enjoyed anything over 93-95 square inches and at least this modern PT is in between the 600 and 660 for size.

If your club’s sponsored by Dunlop would anyone care?
There’s one Dunlop ‘sponsored‘ club that I know of in Melbourne, but it’s basically nothing more than an old trophy cabinet with dusty racquets & grips that no one gives a rat’s about; every few months when I go there for comp & we’re hanging out after the matches I notice that someone’s changed a couple of things though.

Its part of the contract for coaching there as sponsor rewards my promising junior students.
Recently toying with one of the prototype Mizuno Lendl type-s, pt600 and 6.1 has made me miss my OHBH drives of old.
It was like it never left and was upset for giving it the cold shoulder for so many years.

The CX 95/98 models force me to run around hit more FHs with the 16x19 vs18x20 FH has less depth and OHBH is acceptable.
A buddy suggested I contact Angell and see if they can do a custom 18x17 pattern on their 95 or foam fill a revo cx tour 95.

Interview with Peter Lehrner (Thomas Musters stringer): Part 2, Part 1, Part 3
Great piece of history there! thanks, how times and careers come and go Tennis servicemen are no longer contracted or asked to lug around 40kg
machines through airports place to place.

He also tinkered with thin wire! surely today there must be a shock absorbing memory alloy that could be used for mains and "BAM" outer coated natural gut crosses?! :)
