This racquet was UNREAL !!! From what I remember you had to string it by HAND !! And adjust the tension accordingly by turning the knob on the handle ! I would love to get my hands on this treasure !! Would love to hear comments by anyone who used, or strung this frame.

I was invited to a preview showing of the frame when it first came out, and got to hit with it. You could adjust tension by turning the knob, and you could make it play quite differently. I feel it would be illegal today because of this.
BTW, the racquets we used already had quite noticeable damage to the grommets from being adjusted so much: many were cracked or broken away from the frame. I think this thing would've been a pain in the neck to maintain.
Remember: just because you could adjust the tension didn't mean the strings couldn't go dead, so you would still have to restring, even if a little less often.

nice pic. Bergelin is perhaps just as famous as being the coach of Bjorn Borg.

I'd say That Lennart Bergelin is 10000* more famous for being Borg's Coach throughout his career. I'd still love to see one of those though.

Fischer made a racket very similar also. a "key" was inserted in the butt cap to adjust tenision the racket was from the 1986 line-up. just about every guy who plays tennis looks at frames that might give a little advantage for them, but this concept was really "reaching for it".
