Replacement for Prince Tour NXG Mid?

Hey guys, hoping y'all can help point me to a few rackets that I could transition to. I played with the Prince Tour NXG Mid all of high school but haven't played in the last 15 years. I started tennis back up in the past 3 months and still love this racket. The only problem now is my body at 33 is not the same at 18, and I'm starting to feel fatigue very quickly and my elbow and wrist hurt after playing.

Are there older rackets (within the past 5-7 years) that have a similar swing and feel to the Tour NXG Mid (I'm looking to buy used)? I'm thinking a lighter racket (11.0-11.8 oz) would be a good decrease in racket weight to help with the wrist and elbow pain without giving up too much beefiness. And since I can't produce the same power as before, going up headsizes to today's 97-100 sq in might help.

Also, to put in perspective, I borrowed an O3 Hybrid Hornet and felt it played very similar to the NXG Mid - I didn't have to change up my ground stroke swing or serve swing. The only problem I had was the soft touch in volleys that the NXG Mid helped with. Maybe an 18x20 string pattern in a larger headsize solves a lot of my issues.

So in conclusion, I'm thinking keeping 18x20 string patter for control but increasing headsize to 97-100sqin for power but need a weight around 11.0-11.7 oz. Anything like that comparable to NXG Mid? Or better yet, if you played with the NXG Mid as your go-to racket and changed, which racket did you change to?

Thanks for your help!

I use the midplus and it’s a unique feel which I haven’t found elsewhere But maybe you want something different, easier power, softer feel etc in which case plenty of new stuff around.

The NXG mid is a nearly 13 oz. racquet in its stock form (strung, plus and overgrip). It seems to me that Prince tried to sort of reintroduce this model as the new midsized Phantom, but the spec sheet on that new mid looks like it's a bit lighter than the NXG mid. I'd expect the Phantom to be noticeably lacking in power like that, but I haven't demo'ed one.

I don't remember if I started playing with my Volkl C10's before or after I discovered the NXG mids, but the C10 is one of two Volkls I keep in my bag now. I've enjoyed them for several years and I only used the NXG mids regularly for maybe a couple years back in the day. The C10 has a lot of that old-school personality wrapped in a more modern package - "modern" meaning that it has a larger hoop.

Even with lead added to the handles of my C10's for more comfortable balance, they're still a bit lighter than my stock NXG's. I love the moderate flex and supreme comfort I get with the C10 strung with 16 or 17 ga. syn. gut. Plus there's absolutely no shortage of power for me from the C10. This frame isn't a definite solution to your racquet search, but I think it's worth a look.

Also - if you're used to the NXG mid, I'd say be careful about what you consider to be a "lighter" alternative. Something in the realm of 11.0-11.2 oz. could be way too light for you. I've tried that sort of switch myself in recent years - more than once - and all I did was hurt myself when I tried to compensate for the lower weight by increasing my swing speeds. I'm still managing something that I tweaked in the back of my shoulder after trying to play with the 2015 Blade 98 a year or two ago.

Switching to a 11.8-12.0 oz. frame could be a huge drop in weight for you coming from the NXG mid. Proceed with caution there.

Prince Phantom 93P 18x20 if you want to stay with the same head size.

Prince Textreme Tour 100 has 18x20, I believe.

Awesome, this is exactly what I needed. Thanks so much for the help. @Ronaldo I've been reading a lot about the prestige mids...they seem like a popular choice here.
