Hey guys, hoping y'all can help point me to a few rackets that I could transition to. I played with the Prince Tour NXG Mid all of high school but haven't played in the last 15 years. I started tennis back up in the past 3 months and still love this racket. The only problem now is my body at 33 is not the same at 18, and I'm starting to feel fatigue very quickly and my elbow and wrist hurt after playing.
Are there older rackets (within the past 5-7 years) that have a similar swing and feel to the Tour NXG Mid (I'm looking to buy used)? I'm thinking a lighter racket (11.0-11.8 oz) would be a good decrease in racket weight to help with the wrist and elbow pain without giving up too much beefiness. And since I can't produce the same power as before, going up headsizes to today's 97-100 sq in might help.
Also, to put in perspective, I borrowed an O3 Hybrid Hornet and felt it played very similar to the NXG Mid - I didn't have to change up my ground stroke swing or serve swing. The only problem I had was the soft touch in volleys that the NXG Mid helped with. Maybe an 18x20 string pattern in a larger headsize solves a lot of my issues.
So in conclusion, I'm thinking keeping 18x20 string patter for control but increasing headsize to 97-100sqin for power but need a weight around 11.0-11.7 oz. Anything like that comparable to NXG Mid? Or better yet, if you played with the NXG Mid as your go-to racket and changed, which racket did you change to?
Thanks for your help!
