Roddick Racquet questions...

I am about to order my Roddick setup (from TW OF COURSE!!!:))and was wondering if anyone had any up to date info on his racquet... also how do you tie that rubberband like he does??? anyone know???
I have so far info:

Babolat Pure Drive Roddick Plus Racquet

Babolat Pro Hurricane Tour 16 string Mains

Babolat VS Natural Gut 16 crosses

string at 63??? I have heard that's about where he is normally

also a Tournagrip xxl grip wrapped the same...

the babolat stripes will be sprayed on

anyone got any other info???

Whatever his set up is, won't work for you... you're not him. Why don't you play what's best for your game.

i agree. why are you ordering his setup now? don't mean to be bashing on you, just wondering. ordering his setup won't help/make you play like him, or make you play any better. get what you like to help your game.

but if you are getting it for collection/or other purposes, then it sounds like you have it pretty close but i wouldn't know for sure

tw doesn't carry the xxl tourna grip. if fact, idk of any sites that do, i believe that i heard somewhere that it is only available to pros. also, if you want a roddick setup, then you should get the regular pure drive plus (not roddick, not cortex) as that is what he is actually using with some lead at 3 and 9.

Unless he has changed and nobody told me he does not use the PD roddick, he uses the old pure drive.

and if you do a search you can find instructions on how to tie the band

oh ya and i don't think tw carries roddick's ********* attitude on their site either. maybe in the shop on his site + s&h

hes got it right, he doesnt use the cortex at all...and hes changed the weight and balance, useing lead at 3 and 9 will get you somewhere of what he uses

get some babolat propulses and lacoste clothing as well then youll be all set

I agree... I was expecting some retalliation, but its crazy the bashers on this site... I appreciate the help from the few good members on here, and I am sure questions like this bug you guys, I am a loyal Roddick fan, and I can accept a lot of people on here dislike him, NO I don't think my choices will make me play like him, I just like his racquet setup and was trying my best to replicate it... I apologise to the members that are irritated with me and my questions.... I was just trying to get some expert advice, that's all...

With all due respect why waste your money on this?, the only thing the same as Roddick's racquet that will be the same is the Babolat type face & colour of the racquet. He does not use a off the shelf consumer model, but it is your money to spend on what ever you want.

Hang on... whenever anyone gets hold of a pro racket (at least one that's still in one piece) people want to know how it plays! The fact that someone wants to emulate a consistent top ten player isn't a bad thing.

Perhaps the racket will feel horrible to him once he's tried it, but as I've said before, I defy ANYONE to try all the racket options that exist. We all make conscious and unconscious judgments that fall far short of hitting with each racket when we shortlist some to try; and it's almost certain that when we try them we are as influenced by the paint job, player associations, brand and price, as we are by the way it actually plays. Our brains factor all this information in and distort our perception.

If he feels he has some aspects of Roddicks game there are far worse players he could be looking to emulate - like me, for instance, or his coach, or anyone else on this board, or 99.999% of the rest of the earth's population!

Personally, I'd still want Roger Federer to play me in the tennis scenes of my lifestory movie ;-)

How do you know that he uses the original Pure drive Plus for sure???

can you link me to where u can find this information.

is it the pure drive team plus or the pure drive plus (both non cortex)???

its been known to be the pure drive TEAM plus. the cortex is covered up by roddicks overgrip and there are many threads discussing it.

another example is Nadal's cortex which is painted on there and you can literally see it.

what about the racquet before the pure drive team plus??? the one he used in his teens? could he have molded that >?

also could you tell me the thread name because it takes along time to try and find it
