Even as Federer got older, he played at an ATG level just like Djokovic has. Djokovic has had to play Nadal, fellow GOAT-contender, his entire career and so "all the time" does apply there. No two men have played each other more times in the Open Era than those two, not even close. After 2014, Djokovic and Nadal have met 6 times in slams and had they not stopped each other there, they would have even far more majors. In comparison, the classic rivalry between Borg and McEnroe only had 4 slam meetings between them for the entire rivalry. Djokovic and Nadal have played each other 18 times in slams total.

As Federer got older he became easier to beat for Djokovic, ATG level or not.

Djokovic was already better than fed on hard courts and clay ages ago. Djokovic was also better than Nadal on hard courts and grass ages ago. He was already the best all round player of the big3 from years back. He didn’t have to wait for anything.

Obviously fed and Rafa would start ahead of Djoko because they older and started out before Novak on tour. They had the luxury of beating pre prime/peak Novak a lot in early days too.

Should be Djokovic in 3. But with respect to Ruud and also Djokovic's constant MTOs, giving 1 extra set to Ruud. Should be no surprise at all if Djokovic wins in 3.

Ideally I liked Ruud but his constant GS finals run is rather disappointing. He doesn't belong in the contest.
