In the Australian Open Sharapova according to tw is using an o3 speedport white. on court there is a pink insert instead of a white insert.. anyone noe where to get that or is it special for her? can't find a pic right now though

On the Prince Japan site, people seem to be able to choose different colored inserts for Speedport Black, called "My color" http://www.daiwaseiko.co.jp/tennis/products/rackets/o3speed/io3spbk.html

But from what I recall from Maria's racquet (I was watching her and her racquet today) there didn't seem to be this much pink. Maybe there is something similar for the Speedport White (if indeed that is what she is using), but not yet available, even in Japan...

u can actually dye them colors in hot water and the color dye you want. maybe she had it done.

Sharapova is still using the o3 white and the speedport...she tried it last year in moscow and did horrible so i guess she's still used to her o3 white. Who knows prince might come out with a prince o3 white zone.

I have a Speedport Black racquet. I can order specifically the speedport inserts in a variety of colors, including a shade of pink. I ordered the pink and put them in my racket. Mine are more of a violet color. A friend of mine has one of Maria's O3 White rackets and I've seen it with the pink accents which are not colored inserts, but actually a customized paint job. That pink is more of a bubble gum or cotton candy pink. As far as I know the colored speedport inserts are only available for the Speedport Black model. The Bryan brothers use these rackets and switch out the colors on their rackets.

I saw a similar O3 White (speedport was not out then) in Tokyo, Shinjuku with the pink inserts. It is longer and heavier than the standard 03 white in the US. I thought I counted 18 strings too... The shop I remember is Windsor sports..

Now..I'm not so sure if the one I saw is heavier than the standard O3 white. But I'm pretty sure it's longer.

yes yes that is possible.... just in case the the OP wants 18x20 and longer... go find it in Japan.. it may be heavier a heavier model too..

yes it does have pink 12o clock colored o3 holes. it's one of the two XF versions of the o3 white in japan. the all white having a 18/19 pattern and being 27.25 inches while the one with pink having only the 18/19 string pattern. she is using the one with pink. even on topspin 3 you can see it in her pics at 12 o clock

Looks like Sharapova is gonna try some new racquets. Because she says that she is gonna play with something that is more flexible but im not sure if they are gonna just make another o3 xf white for her but less stiff. Heres what she said:

"Then it was back to work where I spent many hours of each day working with Prince on different rackets and strings. Ever since Indian Wells and that backhand incident, I haven't been able to get my arm up and close to my head without some sort of impingement and grinding..so I've been trying different rackets with different weight balances that are a bit more flexible and the strings looser to get as much tension away from my arm as possible. So for the last week I have been playing with a new frame...I'm usually very sensitive to any minor changes and we usually do this in the off season, but we really had no choice this time."

You are grossly mistaken. She said that she was trying different racquets with different weight BALANCES. She did not say, "lighter". Her wrist is not the problem. She said that her shoulder is still the problem.
