I'm not convinced that a lot of the footage that I've seen of this isn't simulated. It certainly looks promising, but it has a ways to go before it's marketable. As soon as they can put the whole setup in a pair of glasses, that'd be something. :D

that is really awesome technology. thinking of making it is really easy but being able to physically make it is even better.

What part do you think is simulated?

Do you think one of the top guys at MIT would present something that is fake in a huge forum?

I also heard the head of MIT gave a similar lecture where he gave out more details about it.

This is interesting... but hardly groundbreaking.

You're basically carrying a computer and camera around with you 24x7. You also have to walk around constantly with crap on your fingers for spatial recognition when using your hands. Who the hell wants to do that? I just don't get it, I guess.

This seems more like humans becoming further shackled/enslaved by technology. Next, we'll have ports installed in our bodies so we can directly interact with a computer at the cellular level.

Beside that, the video almost has the smell and feel of an infomercial.

I beg to differ....

Good guess....

If anything, it helps free you from the stationed computer and lets you out in the real world.

I think Nano technology would be used for that, not ports.

Beside that, the video almost has the smell and feel of an infomercial.
It is, for a product that is groundbreaking and will be open source, is there a better way to spread the word about it and get people excited about exploring the possibilities?

You can beg all you want... are you disputing that or not?

BTW, it's not a guess, it's a fact. He must carry around a computer in a backpack... connected to a camera and a sensory device on his fingers at all times.

Instead of responding with statements like "good guess", present your facts if they differ from what I stated.
