Slimmed down nicely but can't get rid of belly fat

I've managed to drop down two pant sizes just by doing hill sprints for 30mins each day and simple straight up/down sit ups and push-ups.
Despite looking better I still can't get rid of the layer of fat around my waist. A simple pinch test shows an inch and a half thick of fat still sitting around my waist and stomach.

What are some home routines to target this and slim down the stubborn waist fat? Thanks for any advice

Are you eating well? It could be your diet.

It's not "could", it is. You can't spot reduce fat, there isn't any routine that will get rid of it, it's all diet. People's bodies store fat differently, everyone has that place where, when you gain weight, that's straight where it goes to. Normally your stomach, hips, or ass. Those same places when you're LOSING weight, are going to be the last places the weight comes off. You want to cut those out cut another 300 calories off your diet

It's impossible to target specific areas, sadly.

Just do a good blend of cardio/strength training and - more important - proper diet.
Just cut the sugar and unhealthy fats.

Admittedly sugar is a regular part of my diet. I wouldn't say I consumed excessive amounts but I do have a normal sweet tooth.
I estimate I consume about half a can of sugary soda plus one candy bar if averaged out per day.

I have suspected sugar is a culprit but it's a habit that is hard to kick!

A pound is 3500 calories, so when I wanted to drop weight the formula was to cut 500 cal/day from my diet which is 1 lb/wk. It is really simple math but it worked. I had to watch the calories I ate in an effort to get greater nutritional content as I was down to 1750 cal/day which really sucked.

Running/working out increases the calories used vs resting/baseline calories which is great but the downside was that I usually ate back most of the burned calories. There are several fitness calculators but a hard -hour- of running burned 600 cal/day.

Its your diet...Cut any alcohol, sodas, bread, or fried foods....Forget about pastas and cereals too much sugar. Go with tons of Organic veggies, and non hormone grass fed beef/meat, avocados, Kale, Chards...you'll have no belly fat within a month. Coffee ok. Stay away from anything that has sugar or sodium, especially if it is introduced in to the product.
