Yes, Roddick is currently planning on playing in the French Open. He's to play Alberto Martin in the first round, and the match is scheduled for tuesday.

You're out of your mind. The only way Roddick can win the French, if it's everybody in the Top50 withdraws... and still... some claycourters between 50 and 150 could beat the actual Roddick :?

Ironically, Sampras was the only one of the American pack that fell short.

No we've got Roddick, Blake...Ginepri? ... Goldstein? Gimelstob? Nah, we've got no one. And Agassi is still there trying to hold the tent up for the rest of the guys.

no no no.... the only way roddick can win is if every single player gets injured and has to retire.. even then he'll find sum way to lose it. he'll prob do his back again or something.

dont get me wrong.. im a MASSIVE roddick fan, and he does have one of the best runs out of almost everyone, but hes got people like ljubacic and even verdasco there who are much stronger players on clay.. and lets face it... clay is not andys stong point. i doubt he'll get very far.

oh really? sorry mate'..my bad, my bad...but i prefer chang mainly becos he looks asian...

Oh gee, big surprise. You live in Hong Kong and only route for Asians because they "look" Asian. Never would have guessed that one.

Too bad you don't know anything about tennis or tennis history.

Make sure it's DRY sand. If the sand is WET, it WILL bounce, specially if it has topspin. But of course, you can't serve with topspin... you can only do """"""""""""""SCUD SERVES"""""""""""""""""""""""

Yeah, I know, the lots of " were intentional ;)

I will pull for him, but money talks - and I wouldn't bet $5 on him getting to the 2nd weekend...

I hope I am wrong...

Roddick will not make it past the 2nd round. Not only is he hurt, but all he has is a baseline game. If his serve or forehand is off, he doesn't stand a chance against anyone adept to playing on clay. In my opinion...;)

This person has maybe added the most to this discussion and is the closest to being right, Roddick will be lucky to win in the first round....

if roddick is fully fit and can stay that way he'll make the 3rd round r perhaps further...
Why? His best result was 3rd Round (2001), when we was a rising star... why is he going to improve that now, when his game is on a total slump?

actually i saw him in rome first round against hanescu, i know hanesscu isn't much of a player but arod moved quite well and his overall performance left some good impression on me, but obviously it was just "his day", if he could repeat this games (which i certainly doubt), he might past round or two :D

but one of the first time i have agreed with something mac has said (probably beacouse it's about his fellow arod) is that you need binoculars to see arod on the other side of net, he really is standing way too much backwards especially for his game)
