String like gut but less power/more spin??

Are there any strings available currently which are as arm friendly as natural gut, but less lively and with more spin production?? I love gut for the arm but the power is tough to control and I don't touch any poly, even in hybrids. Thanks.

Natural gut at higher tension.

Irvin has a good idea above. If you want more control from gut, simply increase tension 4-5 lbs.

Most good multi's will feel similar to gut but not quite as good. And, I don't think you will get as much spin but it will be close. TF NRG2, TF X1 BiPhase, Bab Excel, Wilson NXT are all good multi's and worth a try. My favorite is NRG2 but the others are very good.

Arjunt1216 idea about a gut main/poly cross hybrid is also very good but it will not have the same level of comfort as all gut. But, the poly cross will tone down the liveliness/power of the gut and the poly will give more control and spin than all gut.

Are they starting to make shaped/textured multis or synths? I have tried to use thin gauge multis to have feel and spin, but then durability becomes an issue.?

Dunlop Hexy Fiber, Gamma Ruff, Ashaway Dynamite come to mind. Other non-polys for spin?

There is nothing like gut....but....
there's a new type of string no one seems to have ever tried.....and I think it's the answer ...

It's called zyex.... It's not poly,Kevlar or syn gut or multi.....it's a completely new and different material

Check it out :

You could do a Gut/SynGut hybrid. It would be easier on the arm than Gut/Poly. You can tame the power a bit by stringing the crosses and/or the mains tighter. You might not need to with a synthetic gut cross.
