String recommendation for Blade v8 16x19

Hi guys,

I’ve just got my new Blades, they were strung by the seller with ALU 1.25. Tomorrow I’m gonna be testing it. Do you have any deeper experience with that Blade and strings which cooperate with that frame? I used to play with Hyper G 1.15 on my Clash before - does it also play well with the Blade?
I’ve never played with ALU before, tomorrow will be my first time with it - what do you generally think about it? Isn’t it overrated? What’s unique about the ALU that many pros use it (instead of sponsoring)? Isn’t it already a very old string? Are there any similar/better than the ALU or if I like ALU, I should stick with it despite the high price?

I like to string that type of racquet with a shaped poly (16L or 17) in the mains and a smooth softer poly (16 / 16L) in the Crosses. Right around 46m / 49c lbs. For the mains I 've had good luck with Hyper-G, Confidential, Volkl Cyclone, Pro's Pro Black Out or Stratagem. Crosses can be a smooth poly or for more pop a synthetic gut. There are many other combos that work well too depending on your needs and budget.

I did a gosen g tour 3 1.23(?) and gosen ak pro cx 1.24 combo in mine and it hit very nice. The gosen strings just aren’t readily available at a lot of shops. Full Lynx Touch 17 wasn’t the business and broke fast for me. Tourna Black Zone 17 and Tourna quasi gut 16 was ok. Best combo I’ve tried so far in the blade for my desires and type of play: Head Lynx 17 (lime green) and Tourna Quasi Gut 16 at 50/48. I’ve found hybrids to work best imo ymmv

I tried once a long time ago - it had to much power for me.



Do you guys have any tested hybrids that work well with each other? I'd search for maximum control, feel and spin. I'm not a string breaker and actually don't have any budget limit, so even if you say something like ALU is the best, it's ok for me.

HG/GW is a solid combo on v7 blade…the new v8 is crispier so maybe a more muted string such as BK? I didnt care much for the v8; much prefer the v7
