Hi TW Staff,
I was browsing the site, and i realized something that I'd really, really like to see on the main page: "Auto Complete" searches.
I'm guessing that Google has an API that allows for seamless integration of a google search for the TW site? Maybe it's a lot of work, but I find that the way I've been browsing your (commerce) site hasn't changed for several, several years in terms of looking for something specific I want to buy.
I actually appreciate the layout (and fluid/"content-aware") navigation that the TW site offers, for instance: racquet mfgrs on the main page, but I often look for string. I click the string finder, and i have string brands on the left.
However, one of the daunting things for new users to any commerce site (IMO) is getting a handle on the navigation. I take it for granted because I've been shopping with TW quite a while, but I think having an auto-complete in your search box would work wonders, both for new users coming to the site, as well as seasoned "veterans" like myself. I also imagine the effort would translate to increased sales. It's a small edit from a user "feel," standpoint (i'd take it for granted if it were there), but I think if a user is looking for something specific, like a gamma brand grip, or something, they could start typing in "gamma" and a suggestion(s) list would drop out. They might even find something they weren't looking for in the first place!
I know when I shop I generally open several dozen tabs (ANY string brand i MIGHT be interested in), but the amount of stuff/merchandise puts me into a purchase shock sometimes.
Just a thought, anyone else want to chime in? Hopefully this won't be an enormous headache to integrate, I know you guys have the recommendation/similar items system on the back-end, but it's wishful thinking on my part, hopefully the theoretical server load won't explode, either
