Are there some common SG x SG crosses that use two different SG's at different tensions that do anything approaching Poly or Gut x SG hybrids?
I'm still stringing my 16 x 18 Wilsons to see what feels the best. Right now no.2 is 18G Ashaway Kevlar at 52lbs x 57lbs 17G Gosen. No. 2 is 16G Pacific Tough Gut x 17G Gosen . No. 3 isn't much different than a couple of full bed syn guts of different types I am trying. That is Titan 15L Gut x Dunlop Silk. I have other string combos I am trying and it is interesting.
My most interesting/curious right now is an 11 oz (lead at the 6" point in the handle and some more lead at the 3&9 o'clock position) 115" Head Ti6 strung outwards in the main from 66-68lbs with 16G Ashaway Kevlar x Forten Sweet 16 at 60lbs. My buddy who has had shoulder surgery "took" this one from me and uses it over his Volkl V1 MP (which he won in a bet with me when I went for Monfils over Federer - what the hell was I thinking, 2 friggin' match points wasn't it? - I shouldn't drink wine while watching tennis) and his Dunlop Biomentic M300's. This guy at 58yrs not only has had shoulder surgery, but knee surgery and wrist issues who never bowls less than 200.
