Indian supreme court has just ruled that homosexual sex is not longer a crime. No excuses now for Indian tennis players not to come out. Imagine Sania Mirza as a lesbian. :p

I think it is time for the lgbt-whatever crowd to start supporting the rights of men, to join the tennis pro tour, who like having sexual intercourse with dogs, goats, sheep, and various other animals. Why so silent on this issue? I would think you would be standing firm in
support of freedom of sexual rights.

The creative side has always been applauded for it's perversion. Just look at the following examples: Alice in Wonderland-writer a known
drug addict...Hemingway-manic depressive, alcoholic, bi-sexual, and communist spy...most of Hollywood-Rock Hudson, every woman's dream
boat...Truman Capote...Boy George...and on an on an on.

Perversion has always been a seller money maker. We now have Jennifer Garner's, new movie "Peppermint" an angry-vigilante mother getting
even with an MS13 type gang. She's so righteous. (sarcasm intended)

Media preys upon peoples thirst for perversion every day. They make big money from it, look at the porn industry for example. So the desire
for perversion is the cause for downfall and those who don't resist perversion will eventually fall. Perversion is self destructive.

Aloha

So everyone that works in advertising and marketing are perverts? Or anyone who is a creative is a pervert? Got it. I'll keep that mind.

Mods..can we please shut this thread down now since it just went extremely sideways??

While it might be fascinating, that post about MS13, Capote, Boy George...etc..is taking the thread down an OBVIOUS path where derision and name-calling will most likely ensue. While I'll respect your request to not close the thread, I'll just unwatch and no longer contribute. Someone posted about "live and let live". Well...some people obviously can't do that and feel compelled to dictate how others should live their lives from some perceived moral high ground. Even if that supposed moral high ground is littered with skeletons. Peace.

And those are exactly the people who are responsible for the fact that there are no openly gay player on the ATP tour still.

You all have your free choice with my blessings. I won't stop you from making a choice you have made. I am pleased with the choice you made, as I stated before. God forgive and good luck.

Please, explain why any thoughtful person (rational) would want to put an appendage of their body in a sewer outlet?

Consenting adults applies to human beings, in case the little brain of yours did not get it.

Yes, consenting adults. Who choice flesh and rationalizing thought over conscience. Definition of conscience: the inner sense of what is right
or wrong in one's conduct or motives, impelling one towards right action: to follow the dictates of conscience.

Another word for conscience is Spirit. Follow one's Spirit regardless of where the flesh or the intellect may want to go. As for being privy to
God's Word, yes I am. Historically, it is proven, Jesus was the living word of God and walked the earth. I can read God word any and every hour
of the day. I can make sure my spirit or conscience is a trust worthy guide.

But again, I say, to each their own choice, no skin off my nose. Make your own choice and live with it.

Aloha

After thoughts: Why is it that people who don't like to hear what other people have an opinion on, want to shut down the conversation? Also,
why is it that those with an agenda that goes against the norm resort to childish petty name calling? Plus, what would be your opinion of
heterosexuals having, a day every year in every city of the world, a Proud To Be Heterosexual Day?

Does Jesus love the pious because it is the pious, or is the pious, pious only because it is loved by Jesus?

(You can substitute a different word in for Pious if you want; I just wanted to keep it in the original).

They have it every day when they celebrate provably false stuff like religion and when they harass homosexuals.

And no, none of the BS is historically proven.

I just hope you realise that in God's eyes a sexual act not for procreation's sake is exactly as perverse as sodomy, bestiality and so on. If you f**k for pleasure, you are not a good Christian and will go to hell after your death, because after every copulation your woman has to bear a child.

Regarding opinion, most of us are lucky to live in a democracy, where everyone and every minority theoretically has a voice. We also have a so called "Proud To Be a Heterosexual Day" with people displaying their heterosexual relationships on public every day, aren't we?

It is not just about gays. Religion was used for a 100 years or more to justify slavery and discrimination. As each past opinion recedes into disgust, a new issue is needed to keep the religious empire funded.

Well, nothing like a grass roots effort, right. So let's start a thread so we can highlight all the gay posters on TTW, as a way to show the world how the tennis community is so open and friendly.

What could possbily go wrong?

I could always add a few more names to my iggy list. ;)

People have a way of perverting anything when power and money is involved. Nowadays Christianity at least is used mostly for just causes (for example, the many missions established to help people in very poor countries.)

But the key thing is that if you pervert something to the point that you completely contradict the principles it was founded upon, blaming those principles doesn't make any sense. Just write it off to the wickedness of some human beings.

Why do people not want tennis dudes kissing each other outside of the closet?

Why do republicans rally against dudes making out?

Just trying to understand these complex issues with clarity.

I don't know any gay person personally. In the lesbian group, there were the three I mentioned above that I encountered at a bar. Among gays, there was this guy who was the officer for certifying that home mortgage terms were correctly conveyed to the buyer - a half hour job. He came over and the realtor was also there, who knew him. His mannerisms were so stereotypical that I could hardly contain my laughter. When he left, the realtor understood what I was thinking and smiled and said, yes he is gay.

Apart from that, I don't know anyone personally. When I was a student, being gay was a deadly slur used to start a fight. We suspected a few guys, but it was never clear whether they were just being accused or really gay, because the distinction used to be blurred.

My parents used to watch Wimbledon finals which was one of the few sports events telecast at that time on black and while TV. It was always Evert vs Navratilova, and my parents would say "she looks like a man." Don't know if they themselves had any knowledge about these issues beyond that - they were highly religious orthodox types.

Those who do that belong to the party. The party is just a name, and the roles were reversed during the 60s.

That is a comforting thought, but religions have not been perverted. They were always like that, and reflected the prejudices of the times when they were arose. So no, religion is not something noble which humans corrupt.

Many missions used to help poor people are actually conversion machines which use money and power to bribe people to convert, and try to subvert the local culture for social and political reasons. In business terms, they are just methods of growing the customer base and drawing them away from competitors.

What did you find so funny about his mannerisms?

Were you laughing with him or laughing at him?

Very effeminate, high pitched voice, and a lot of expressive body movements. It was also clear he was very sensitive, as such people tend to be.

The "Ancient Greeks" didn't need religion to justify slavery and discrimination in their culture.

I don't know why you think this way, but usually when people have made their mind up and hold absolute views about any topic based on their prejudiced views, they are wrong. Missionaries don't lead what I would call a life of luxury, and many of them are even murdered. And much good comes out of the work of missionaries, whether you believe it or not. I don't think you are doing anything to help the problem, so at least show some respect for those who make the sacrifices to actually do what you preach at a theoretical level.

So, do you laugh at women that display similar characteristics?

Or do you have a particular idea of how men should act? And men not acting in this way is "different" and therefore fair game for humor?

That may be, but history is not something I use as a measure. I just go by science and modern thinking. If tomorrow someone publishes a book claiming that greeks were not OK with it, I am not affected.

Exactly!

But the humor must be for personal enjoyment only and should never infringe on any rights of any others. Ideally, thought, speech and action should be in sync, but practically speaking, the last two will do for now.

If you find something to be weird, acknowledge it and move on. Maybe your attitudes will change with more exposure, maybe not. But just live and let live.

I find the male-male thingie quite disgusting to think of, but I don't obsess over it or seek religious justification for my thinking like the (aptly named hehehe) poster does.

Actually their society was even more religious than Christian society after them, because they had not one, but hundreds of gods.

So do whatever is necessary to preserve your reputation?

In other words, do (speech, action) whatever is required by the prevailing social forces to preserve your reputation, regardless of what your actual feeling (thought) are? Have you ever read The Republic?

There is nothing new about it. There have been any number of jokes about it since Freud's time. Like the Polonious to his son advice that to thine own self be true, many jokes like for most people, it is better to be like someone else because they suck etc. Since Freud, we know very well that the human brain has dark thoughts which are not meant to be spoken or acted upon. Again, for someone who looks at it from science, it is just the reptilian part of the brain (limbic system) which is an evolutionary artifact interacting with the other areas of the brain which evolved later.

I don't read historic novels or philosophy books etc.

It is all about evolution baby.

Understand it and everything will make sense. You will truly realize who you are - just a poorly-assembled collection of billions of marine microorganisms which have grown dependent on each other. It will not happen through philosophy or religion.

Your next question will be how come evolution continued to produce gay people when the whole point seems to be to have more offspring? I will let you google that.

No you're not (and that's the main problem).

Like a lot of people, you're simply too smart to want to learn anything.

http://www.bretlsimmons.com/2012-05...o-smart-to-learn-and-too-incognizant-to-know/

https://hbr.org/product/teaching-smart-people-how-to-learn/an/91301-PDF-ENG

People that are too smart to learn are very skilled problem solvers, but very unskilled at reflecting on and changing their own behavior. Successful people just like you and me are most likely to be too smart to really learn. It’s difficult for people to understand that there is a difference between performance and learning.

It’s tough getting through to smart people. Their
defensive reasoning mechanisms create a stronghold of incognizance. If you even care to know, here are ten signs that you might indeed be too smart to learn:

1. You spend your time and energy trying to convince others your views are right instead of trying to understand their views.
2. You believe that making mistakes is a sign of incompetence
3. People that know you can’t remember the last time you changed your behavior in any significant way
4. You look for someone to “blame and shame” whenever something goes wrong
5. You take great pride in your intelligence
6. You consider yourself an expert
7. You would rather be recognized for your accomplishments than for your efforts
8. Self-esteem is the focus of your self-reflection
9. It’s impossible for you to question your assumptions because you’ve either never taken the time to identify them or have long since forgotten them
10. If you read outside of work, it’s primarily for pleasure
