full match like 2/3 sets, 6 games. not just a few games. doubles count...

For me, it was our rival school's 2 singles player. he was undefeated during the season and whoped me 62 61 first time and 63 60 second time. he was a hell of a player. high 4.5-low 5.0 i would think. but a low 4.0-high 3.5 like me stand no chance against him though.

The former #1 at my high school now plays D1 (he's a good 5.5). I played him last month and it was 6-0 6-0 6-0. I swear that a ton of games went to deuce, and I was playing well enough that a crowd (haha, 10 people or so) started to watch. I have taken games off him before, and I choked on a couple game points this time.

For not a full match, I played 4 doubles games against the Jensen brothers.

Yesterday, I got beat badly in the open finals of one of the local tourneys this weekend by the #1 player for UC Riverside. He had a very Hewitt style game, including the "COME ON", that was very annoying.

I was a step slow from just finishing a semi match that was tougher than the 6-3, 6-1 score line showed. I also didn't convert on several key points which would have gotten me more games, but the dude was definitely sharp. I usually get a few free points from my serve, but he hardly missed a return that he got his racket on the whole match. He also had super heavy topspin that kicked up wicked and I missed a bunch of shots trying to drive my one-hand backhand off the rise. He hit slices, drop shots, aced me, hit volleys, and basically did just about everything well, especially moving.

I also won two matches and got the dubs finals (small draw) and played against a team where one of the guys said he played for Stanford. He was pretty darn good too, ripping returns and groundies, and making sick vollies.

So not too successful but overall it was cool to make both finals. And playing 7 matches, winning 5, makes for a fun weekend.

Besides this tourney, i played in the finals of one last year against a very talented junior named J. Jung. He was awesome. After bunch of aces in my first serve game and a good attacking return game, i was up 2-0. I didn't win another game. Of course, that was 1 hour after a tough 3 set win. A couple weeks later he won an ITF event, Hong Kong Open. Recently he lost to Donaly Young at Easter Bowl, 6-4,6-1. But he is still 16 or 17 and getting better fast.

USTA tournament in the final. Her serve was KILLER. Well her first serve. If her first serve was out, I could at least compete. I ended up losing, but still, to get to the final was awesome. 6-4, 6-2. This was before I actually discovered what a crazy volleyer I am.

this old man, around 55/60 yrs old was playing on my highschool courts the other day. we just had a team practice and i stayed behind working on my serve. since i saw that he was alone and was apparently good (he was serving as well) i went over and asked to play him. we did some warming up and then started playing a 3 set match. i lost 6-0 6-0. he told me that he had taken some tips and lessons from former pros and he was around 5.5 but had been 6.0 when he was younger, which is more than enough for a 4.0 like me. i got aced numerous times, and even my powerful baseline strokes were ineffective against his all court game, and most importantly, his experience. he was tough, perhaps the toughest i've ever been against. i was quite surprised that he had so much power at that age.

I played a set with a guy who, at the time (last year) was 200 in the world. I played very well, hitting winners, and even an ace or two. In fact, I had multiple game points. I think I may have even gotten one...

I lost either 6-0 or 6-1. But man, the guy was good, the points were long and hard, playing against him was really great.

I play matches with super-high ranked juniors all the time.

I just turned 17, btw...

former #1 ranked junior in the US. Bombing serve and volley game. Second serve kicked over my head. Volleys were definitely better than Federer's. And also better Groundstroke game than Federer.

I've played Doubs with A guy that was all SEC at South Carolina, I've beaten a guy in Doubs that is supposed to have held matchpoint on Edberg, gone 6-2, 6-4(Totally treeing by the way and the guy is my coach) with a guy that beat Bryan Baker twice.(I played Doubs with him when I beat the Edberg guy. He was playin with the #2 Junior in Tennessee in the 16's(Not a doubs player but still)

possibly itbemadsarcasm?

This ex-pro who used to be ranked top top ten in Poland when he was 18. His serve wasnt hard at all but it was almost impossible to return with all the spin action and kick he had on it. He played with a continental, which is weird with all the top spin he hit with. He had only played once in the last year but still beat me 6-1 6-2. In the end I was just happy to get those games bacause I felt like I was always out of position, like he was jerking me around the court or something. It was like I couldnt get a clean hit. I dont know how much of that was nerves on my part, or skill on his. It was a good experience all in all though.

I played doubles against a guy named Tony Moh who was a touring pro from Nigeria (I think) anyway, they pretty much killed us but I did ace the guy once and chased down a lob and hit a between the legs shot that his partner dumped in the net.

i played a former junior who was ranked 83 in the ITF rankings. he plays college tennis where i live, and we hit sometimes. i think he's from tailand ( i know i spelled it wrong) and is studying to become a doctor. anyways, hes the man and i got whooped 6-0, 6-1, but it went to deuce a few times.

I went three FULL sets, 7-6 (7-5) 6-7(5-7) 7-6(7-5) against some senior from our rival school. The coach was playing him number 3 but he was the number 1.

Every point was a drawn out battle, so many aces from both of us but so many epic points.
I never felt the need for water in that match, I guess it was all heart.
But I fell asleep and didn't wake up untill about 16 hours later very very sore.

Use some sense in here. He decided to go to college. Education is important to most people. Some people like you may not consider education important.

Ive had a hit with some old pro players like Alan Stone and Mal Anderson so, career-wise, they're probably the best players. But, in terms of playing a match against someone the best credentialled players Ive competed against would be Andrew Ilie and Jo Sirriani. Ilie got to top 50 in the world and Sirriani is top 200 I think.
Im about a year older than both of them so I guess that was my advantage but played against them in some local junior tournaments and in pennant (a comp in Melbourne) and can claim a few wins over both as well as a few losses.
