Oh well at least it was fun while it lasted for DY. Davy in straightsNew Haven- 1st round: Young d. Delic 4-6 6-3 6-4.
It took him 12 matches to win the 1st but congrats. Davydenko is next
So what? What is the big deal? Delic is nobody.
Yup being a former NCAA All-American and ranked in the Top 75 sure is a nobody. Nice job calling someone a nobody from your arm-chair computer.

Good call, very good call. If we ever have a TW-Team-Put-Someone-in-their-Place-competition here, I want you on my team!
Or maybe most of us are just annoyed because he's being pushed down our throats by the USTA, even JMac as the "next big thing" when he's anything but.Why do people seem to enjoy watching this youthful player lose as he develops?
ENVY is the only thing I can put it down to. People are so envious of a promising junior with sponsors and a great career ahead of him, that's what it must be.

...my sentiment exactly

I wonder if Davydenko will take the money again. The payout would be amazing.
Young vs Davydenko, is this going to be a featured match on ESPN2 on wed night?? they may show the woman's match fearing this match would be a blow out ?
How would that be Young's fault? It's not like he's in a position to control what people say about him.Or maybe most of us are just annoyed because he's being pushed down our throats by the USTA, even JMac as the "next big thing" when he's anything but.
I was quite impressed with Donald young, he was hitting 120 mph serves and staying in the rallies well.
At 20 he should be in the top 50, if not higher. I would even say top 20, but I am worried he might flame out at some pt.
If he gets coached well, and plays with a clear head...he will be quite good.
I'll call it right now, top 10 by the age of 21 assuming he doesn't get injured. He needs to tweak his serve and forehand just a bit but I'm sure that will come with time. He just turned 18 and will only continue to make big leaps in rank over the next 2-3 years.

you guts think that in two years he will go from where he is now to top 10? i just dont see it...
that's a 3 year span, not 2 years. blake wasn't even on tour until age 20, & struggled in challengers for 3 years after that before becoming a main draw player. Not everyone progresses at the same rate.
does tennissavy still think jill craybas can beat young?
Hi Moose. No, I watched the match last night, with interest, and I think that Young would now beat Craybas but he would have to work to beat her.
Young would have beat Craybas last year, the year before that and the year before that. Craybas can't beat anybody who has an ATP ranking.
What are you her agent or related to her or something?
She is 5'3". She usually loses in the first round of slams. She would be blown off the court by any ATP player. She has losses this year to such notables as Ayumi Morita, Katie O'Brien and Olga Govortsova. The level between Craybas and the top tier WTA is huge and the level between her and an ATP player is even larger.
