The DiceMan hitting serves

That's me hitting second serves or practice serves. The net doesn't tie down to the court, so I practice "T" serves and inside body serves. The balls are like 3-4 months old, so they probably don't have much bounce left in them. Enjoy. :)

You have a nice serve. How tall are you?

You might consider keeping your head up when you serve. Looks as if you are trying to swing hard, and you might be pulling your body down as a result. You should keep your back straight instead of bending at the waist.

Keeping your head up and back straight will let you make contact higher up in the air and get a better clearance over the net. Then again, the unusually high net might be the problem in the videos.

I hope you had to go along for a shoe shopping excursion as punishment for dragging Mrs. Dicer out to film you playing tennis. . .

But thanks for sharing the vids.

6'3" I'm not trying to swing hard at all, those are warm up serves.

Not bad slice. Like others have said keep that shoulder / hand pointing up a bit longer. You are dropping that arm which is causing you to look down and hit net.

Nice form, very good action on the ball, looks powerful. Sorry your avatar guy had to die in my First movie. It is the way of the force. :)

Anyway, thanks for sharing the vid!!!

Look, you're a big strong guy, great swing motion, fast enough swing, good enough ball hitting but BUT....
You're WASTING tons of energy and giving up consistency with all that extraneous bouncing around movement during your prep. Your trophy is askewed with different rackehand heights and racket angle on each and every serve, you're moving too much all around, legs, trunk, waist, shoulders, during the prep making it impossible to REPLICATE each stroke exactly.
Now watch vids of any top player. They ALL stand deadstill, go directly to trophy position, then swing, without all the sideways, back and forth, up and down bouncing and body movement.
You gotta consoladate your movements into forward energy, not bouncing in all different directions.

thanks for showing the different perspectives. one can appreciate the pace when seeing the ball coming at them. btw - my warm up serves are easy as well so as not to dislocate these aging body parts. :)
