Ferrer is still playing? Thought he retired ages ago.

when people say medical advancements have helped players play for longer..i cringe.

barring some outliers like Federer, players are still retiring in their early thirties...

Watching Fed win yet another slam in his 30s while dropping only 2 sets should really make everyone take a good hard look at that list of players. While in the end they were all eventually steamrolled, they put up a much better fight against peak Fed than the current gen can muster against Grandpa.

All it says even at age 36, you still have to be skilled to beat Federer. No cheap wins because of his age that some were hoping for.

Whats interesting is that Federer is still competetive, and he is the only one who still is.

Thats why i think people who believe that Novak, Murray and Nadal has several years left in the top have lost sight of what is normal. It isnt normal to have a great career post age 31/32. Federer has almost outlived two generations of players which is something very extraordinary.
