Just getting this started so we don't post spoilers in the GPPD thread he initiated.

Filip is currently playing a Futures in Merida, Mexico. He drew a Dutch player with decent Futures results and won in 2 TB's. Next up is the #3 seed from El Salvador.

Good luck, Filip!

Filip doesn't really like it when people spell his name "Philip". But the worst is when people write it "Felipe." We can call him that just to **** him off :p

What was the Dutchman he played?

Kevin Griekspoor.

Congrats, Filip, on the nice comeback Thursday and for finishing with a bakery product. You must have made some nice adjustments.

Next in the QF's is Diaz-Figueroa from Guatemala. Good luck again!

the big Question of course is whether Peliwo is gonna be around at TTW celebrating his 18th grandslam title.

LOL...by extrapolation, Filip should win at least 34 majors, thereby keeping his ratio of junior majors to Fed's intact! No pressure there, Filip!

Filip has advanced to the SF's with a straight set win over the #7 seed and will face the #8 seed from Mexico. My website for scores (rhymes with SoreTennis.net) was ****y in posting results until today...rain delay??? If so, he may have to play 2 matches today or Sunday in order to complete the tourney on schedule.

Good luck, Filip!

No delays, just a slow site :p I won today 6-2 6-3 against Gallardo, the 8 seed. Finals tomorrow against a player I know quite well from the junior circuit.

Thanks for the updates and good luck, Filip!

What Filip didn't mention is his opponent in the finals, Lucas Pouille of France, is on quite a roll at Merida...he qualied last week and won the main draw and has now made it to Sunday again. A tough challenge but I'm sure you're up to it!

Not the result we were hoping for...Filip was beaten 3 and 3 in the final. Good run to get there and I'm sure we'll see a trophy or two hoisted in '13!

So he is only one spot out of direct acceptance...that's a shame if no one pulls out bcoz it's probably a 128-draw for the qualies and that means four matches to get in main draw.

Let's just call Filip by his correct name for now. Wait until he gets to the the regular ATP circuit, Then the name game can begin on this board.

Thanks, Jay! That's a good break for him...hope he takes advantge of it and gains some rankings points for the rest of the schedule. If he stays in the draw past the qualie draw date for F2, he'll get a SE there.

Filip lost a tight first-round match @F1 Plantation...7-5 in the third.

Good luck in the next event...we're still with you, bud!

I arrived at the Veltri Tennis Center in time to watch the 3rd set. Filip got an early break and looked in control until he served at 4-3. His serve left him and he DF'd 4 times in that game to go back on serve. When he served at 5-6 he DF'd two more times including at match point. I was sorry to see him lose. He's got a really good 1st serve and an aggressive forehand. I hope to be able to see him play at the Weston and Sunrise Futures too. Despite the disappointment on court he managed his emotions very well. Tennis is tough.

didnt see the score till now. filip said he choked and wasnt too happy obviously but this stuff happens. he told me his coaches had him make some technical adjustments on his serve over the holidays, so a few hiccups is normal in the first real match of the yr. F2 in sunrise up next

In case anyone is going to be in montreal for the rogers cup, some of our mutual friends are getting a cheering section together for filip's qualifying matches (he should be getting a WC into the qualies)

two wins over quality players (jp smith and bemelmans are both good on hardcourt and pretty solid all-around players). jaziri will be a challenge but filip is pretty good at figuring players out and moves better than jaziri as far as I've seen.

Very nice...taking advantage of the WC and gaining another 15 points minimum for his rankings! If he can handle Jaziri it's another 14 points. Go Peliwo!
