Doesn't need to save MP, just needs to win.
But yeah, very unlikely.
If rog can hold his s*it together, he has a very good chance against djok.
But he has to.
We see 40-15 as the only choke job in wimb2019 and tend to forget number of chokes fed produced in the match before. (2-3 first set, break point, a sitter for a comfortable FH IO, 5-3 first set TB all he had to do was to put the ball back in play, entire 3rd set where djok was very passive and fed responded by being even more passive, setpoint at 5-4 and couldn't produce a return or another deuce)

Any specific reason especially after 2019?
I think they would give us a good match if they meet again. This year one didn't miss anything while the other didn't even show up. Unlikely that both things happen at the same time again.

If Rafa wins the Australian Open, doing it over Novak would be the most special way to do it. And if he has to lose to someone, I'd also prefer it to be to Novak, rather than a young player or Federer.

A predictable vote for me, as Nadal and Djokovic (1 and 1-A, or both 1-a) are my two favorite players, but I'll root for Rafa to win his second Aussie and get that elusive double career slam...and at RG, the reverse of that.

I'm picking Nadal as the most likely of the big 3 to win AO. That, of course, would change if he gets injured. But I think he's in a very different place from where he was a year ago.
People tend to forget Rafa had a surgery this time of year 2018. Was incredible he got to the final AO19 so short post surgery. He is in a very different place now. And he also have no other injures to nurse during Christmas break.
But I do think it will be a gigantic task to beat Novak,Novak is very confident in AO. Novak’s form is up and down, but one should think Novak will roar in AO being healthy and fit again.

Thing is, I'm not sure how healthy Novak is, because he seemed to be having elbow problems again, and to my eyes that is now almost like Nadal's knees. So much of all this is about being 100% healthy.

To me it seems even worse than Rafas knee as Rafa know how to deal w it better now after so many years. I have the same kind of injury as Rafa and in most cases it gets better w age. That’s not the case w Novak’s.
But with some rest Novak’s injury isn’t so bad, that’s why I think Novak can show up in beast mode and form for AO.

1. Nadal vs Federer at the AO- this match would the most epic yet. Nadal either ties Federer’s incredible record, or gives us Fed fans hope that Federer can win this marathon slam title race. I couldn’t be more excited for a match than this one. I also put it at a coin flip too. Nadal is in great form. But if Fed reaches the final, then he has a chance.

2.Nadal vs Thiem, FO final. This sounds insane. But I think Thiem will be a much bigger challenge at the FO in 2020. I see this being an epic 5-setter. It’s possible that Nadal will be playing this match to pass Federer. I think that Thiem would have the best chance at preventing this from happening on this surface.
3. Federer vs Tsitsipas, USO. I would love to see Fed in a USO final again. And I’d really like to see Fed finally convert a decent percentage of break points against Tsitsipas.

note: I wouldn’t be too surprised to see Nadal break Fed’s coveted slam title record in 2020. It will hurt if/when that happens. But if it does, then Nadal will have earned it 100%. I won’t move the goal posts. I won’t make excuses. Rafa will not only be the king of clay. But he will be the king of slams too. The same goes for Djoker too. He will have earned it too. But Djoker will likely have to wait a couple of years to take the lead in slam titles.

Nadal of course for the win :) I want Alexandr Zverev to be the other finalist (they will have to be in opposite sides of the draw of course) for a funny reason: a year and a half ago I predicted Zverev would finally make a final at AO2020! :) (This is highly unlikely but it's what I want to happen the most!)
