I realise this is an Angell thread but has anyone here played a Yonex VCore 95? I've had a VCore 98 (2021) for a while and dabble with it now and then in between my TC100 and modded ASi. The Vcore 98 seems to be string sensitive, i didn't like it a first, too launchy and powerful but with the right string/tension can feel pretty sweet. A friend talked me into trying a VCore 95 (also 2021) and I have to admit I'm impressed with the balance of power and control. Being an Angell junkie I'm now looking for the closest feel in an Angell frame, I'm thinking TC97 16x19. I have a TC97 18x20 but the tight pattern and lower launch angle seems to work against me. Psychologically a 97" frame was the smallest I was willing to go but the VCore 95 has a special feel about it, anyone have any other suggestions that would feel close to a VCore 95?

Maybe the Angell React 96 Pro. I'm playing one right now w/ overgrip and 2g at 12. Stringing around 46-48lbs BEST RACKET EVER.

I used the VC95. I'd say the React line is most consistent with it. I haven't used the React 96 Pro, but the React 99 18x19 is most similar to the VCore compared to the TC90/95/97s I've had.

React pro 96 18 x 20 315g version . Is most predictable racket i have ever tried.. I have head lynx 17 gauge at 54 lbs in it At mo it's my favouritite along with . Tc95 315g with 16 gauge luxillion bbo at 55 lbs Tc95 as slightly more pop & diff feel .Both r amazing. The React Pro u can put more body in swing Both r great . It's difficult to choose. U get more pop on serve with tc95 A bit more . L& ightest bit less control but still great control . Prob best mix of power & control i tried .I think both rackets r equal. U'd hit more winners with tc95. Tc95 contact is like hitting ball with a soft pillow with a snap of twig. Ping. React is more of a smack . Both feel good . No arm pain at all.

React pro 96 is not similar to vcore 95 in my opinio . Vcore 95 as smaller sweetspot . If u hit low on stringbedwith vcore95 u get a bad shot. I mayb not give vcore 95 as much of a try as I lost confidence. I play shots more central to low centre.. I always feel u have to hit pretty high round top of frame with yonex to get a good shot.Being small, mayb didn't suit me . Angell React pro or even tc95 . Whole bed feels like a sweetspot. Control & feel is alot beter on react pro than vcore 95.

I like better
angell react pro 96 315g 18 x 20 10 points headlight
Tc95 16x 19 315g 10 points headlight.
Dunlop cx200 tour 2024 16 x19 Or any dunlop cx200
Pure aero 98
Radical auxetic mp
But i didn't gel with vcore 95.Only yonex i quite liked was Percept. But it was like a yonex blade. I think what Angells say is true. Heaviest racket u feel comfortable with . With a light swingweigh.
Stiff lower swingweights rackets r harder to maneuvre 4 volleys & returns. A percept or even blade is more tiring than a headlight 315g angell. I don't get tired at all with them & returning heavy shots is easier.

I'm not saying the Vcore and React Pro are similar...I'm saying of the Angell line the React line is probably most similar. I personally would choose any Angell frame over the VC95. The VC95 is a good frame, but it definitely feels hollow compared to the Angell frames. I personally don't like the feeling of the VCore frames. But thats just my opinion.

React is also whippier compared to the TC lines in my opinion (and I always get the most HL option). The TC are just solid throughout.
I'd say the TC line has more in common with the Percept line (specifically the the 97H) than the React does with the VC95.
Don't sleep on Angell frames. I know it sucks you can't readily demo...but Paul runs a great company and his products are 100% worthwhile.

My React and TC95 V5 are 27.25, but the React 99 is 328SW strung with 17g poly, and the TC95 18x20 is 338 strung with the same string at the React.

2 questions:

1) is there any difference between the K7 colour iterations?
2) current K7 sales mean upcoming new cosmetics?

K7 Red for example:

So I've hit with the entire XL K7 line this past week:

1. I'm traditionally a 18x20 heavier control racket guy, so the Lime XL naturally feels the best to me. It seems the most solid out of the bunch
2. But the Red XL feels very very close. It's a smidge lighter and in a 16x19 pattern. I could swap between the Lime and Red and not feel much of a difference.
3. I'm not sure what to make of the Cyan XL. It's definitely the least solid of the 3. I don't think it swings any quicker than the other two despite it's lower static weight. Spin isn't noticeably greater.

I'm having a hard time ranking all my Angell frames overall. Had I started with the Lime XL, I think that would have been my favorite. Out of my customs (React 99 18x19, TC90 and TC95 all @ 27.25), I prefer the React the most by far. I'm not sure if I'd put the TC90/95 above the Lime XL or even the Red XL.
All I can share is that my buddy keeps wanting to be to hit with his Blade V9 and it just feels light and muted compared to all the Angell frames. The blade v9 is probably closest to the Cyan, but I'm comparing my XLs to the standard length Blade.

How would you compare your react 99 to the k7 lime? Is the react a lot whippier? More powerful?

React is whippier and flexier; power is similar IMO as while the React is whippier and I probably get more RHS, the Lime is more solid and the added mass hits a similar powered ball.

Keep in mind I added some lead to my React to get its swingweight up to 339 (most of my frames are in the 335-345 range); But the Lime XL strung is at 346 already without any lead added
Stock, the Lime XL is definitely more powerful than the React

Thanks for the comparison. Although the react’s head size is listed at 99 and the k7 is 98, from other poster’s pics, the react’s head size looks about 3 sq inches larger. It’s interesting that it’s whippier and more maneuverable than the Lime.

I have both literally sitting next to me right now and they look identical in headsize.

Oh really? Someone here (I think Happi) posted a pic of the 2 rackets on top of each other and the React 99’s head size looked significantly larger (mostly longer). Also, several other people have noted the React 99 is pretty much the same size as the TC100. Actually, I’m glad to hear you say they’re almost identical in head size.

TC95 and Lime are almost identical
TC100 and React 99 are for sure identical.

I can meassure the frames later today.

Oh that’ll be great! I remember you posted a pic last year of the React 99 on top of the Lime and the hoop of the React looked a lot longer but the width was almost identical.

Unstrung meassurements, as beam is curving I think I have a +/- 1mm in error.

Height / With in mm meassured inside the head.

TC95 - 326 / 243
Lime 98 - 326 / 243

I was not able to meassure any difference in headsize between TC95 and K7 Lime

React 99 - 335 / 246
TC100 - 335 / 246

Again I was not able to meassure any difference in headsize between TC100 and React 99 18x19

Cheers, H

thanks Happi! Really appreciate you doing that. So the head size of the React 99 is quite noticeably larger than the Lime, just like in that pic you posted last year. What’s as equally surprising for me is that the Lime head size is exactly the same as the TC95! I really didn’t expect Angell’s measurements to be that off! These racquets’ head sizes are supposed to be a 3 sq inches difference and it turns out they’re identical!

Doesn't the measurements he provided assume their head shapes are identical? If the oval shape of either head is even slightly different, then you cannot rely just on "greatest width and height" measurements for surface area.

But I also don't split hairs personally between 95 vs 97 vs 98, etc.

I picked up my first Angell frame the MPP 18x19. Standard 305g spec. I love this frame. So much so that another one is on the way, although I might have pulled the trigger too soon. It's incredibly fast and powerful with very slight customization and feels comfortable for the most part.

Having some lingering TE issues, I've been using Gut x Ghostwire strings. This did the trick in my Speed Pro 22 but I'm noticing the React is much harsher on BH slices and BH volleys. Wondering if there is something I could do to mitigate this. I have about 1g of lead near the tip and 1.5g in the buttcap. I'd hate to tail weigh it any more as it takes away from one of the frame's biggest strengths IMO, it's whippiness.

I think the numbers are more marketing or position than real meassurements. TC95 is very close to Head Microgel Radical 98 and identical to Lime 98. However both TC95 and Lime plays great regarding of the size is 95 or 98 or something in between.

True, the head shapes however seem to be very colse for all 4 racquets i meassured, typical Angell head shape.

I know but the fact that 2 racquets listed with 95 and 98 head sizes are actually identical in head size AND head shape is just insane. I get marketing and all that but this is crazy. I wonder what the actual head size really is.

If the react 99 is that much bigger than the Lime, I wonder how the react mid (96 listed head size) compares? Would they be identical or near identical?

As React 99 = TC100 my guess would be that React 96 = TC95

I think its not the size but matrial, foam filling and beam shape that sets the 2 models apart.

I have found that I need to string React quite a bit lower in tension than the TC line.

Thanks Happi! The 18x19 is already so powerful but will try that. I was already planning to use Cream instead of Ghostwire as a cross next. It's my favorite Cross but I get 1/3 of time before it breaks vs GhostWire. Gut x GW seem to last forever. 2X longer than any FB poly.
Can I ask how much you drop tension for your React?

I am afraid I only use multi strings these days. TC100 is typical 23 kg and I just strung up React 99 18x19 with Babolat blue Ecel at 18kg, blue strings looks really cool in that frame.

I have tried to purchase a K7 on sale, but the site does not allow me to put it in the cart. This does not happen with other racquets, if I wanted to buy a TC100 I could do it.
Any suggestions?

I bought all the XLs. Red and Lime are the winners in my opinion
I'm a bit confused, the lighter (and lower SW) is labeled as comfort and spin, while the heavier(and higher SW) lime, as comfort and control?
The lime being more powerful, I presume?
