I've been getting covers made for my sofas and chairs. Tailors will be in tomorrow also to complete the job. Then I have to start figuring out what stationary/exercise bike to buy.

Also, on the tech front moved from zsh to fish-shell on my laptop. Took whatever little spare time I had but should be worth it in the long run. Much more readable.

My wife bought readymade covers but I don't like them. They don't give the feel of the sofa.

I bought the cloth at FabIndia 21 metres. The colour is called Brahma red. Everything has to be measured and fitted carefully. Same people upholstered the sofa and chairs two years ago.

Do you mean the material is different?
The sofa was rebound ace and the covers are red clay?

We had a thread or "Dori" put at the bottom so it snugly wraps around the base and does not just hang from the sides.

I haven't say on the sofas as yet so I don't know. Actually I haven't say on it for years anyway. I always put a towel on the chair so I would not know it's original feel. And I wear clothes when I sit on anything so I'd never really know the feel.

Desis here are planning on a simple Holi instead of the elaborate event of the pre-pandemic days. Just a little bit of gulal on the cheeks (face, not butt cheeks I hope). I will not be attending.

Turns out there is an event being organized for Sunday at 11 am near the beach. Says socially distanced and masked event and seems to indicate that there will be free pizza.

Not sure. Some people here are not comfortable about the crowd scenario. I think I may go and watch from a distance (the public park gives me anonymity) and avoid the food. But parking on Sunday at 11 am at a La Jolla beach? Not sure if it is even worth trying. I don't want to park in a high-rise parking garage and shell out money for it and then still end up walking.

I wish I could take a pedicab

People put color powder and colored water on each other. Never liked it. Entire neighborhoods get coated with the color and it takes days to wash off.

It is also the time some people like to have a milk drink with opium in public and the police look away. A lot of bawdy harassing behavior used to happen against women (spraying their tops with water), but that has since been sharply curtailed. Holi was practically non-existent in Southern India but now showing up there too.

Frankly, I have never encountered a single person who cared about any religious aspect of it. Probably there are. One interesting tradition in a town close to where Krishna was supposed to have been born (where Radha his divine consort was supposed to have been born) consists of women being allowed to kick men that day. Men line up and get kicked and beaten by women.

Some of the villages in Delhi have women who run after men with a soaked towel that has been tied up. They then whip men passing by.

Is AZ a two-dose system? If so, make sure you don’t continue the NSAID dosing leading up to the second shot. Data is inconclusive whether it diminishes the production of antibodies from the vaccine but why risk possibly inhibiting the vaccine’s designed effect. Taking NSAID temporarily after the injection to relieve your side effects is fine though.

The beautiful nurse told me to take a paracetamol if I had any issues.
I did think that this might reduce the effect of the vaccine.
But since I am the only care taker for my mother, I was playing it safe.
Usually, I never take portion killers or fever tablets. I just sit it out and have a cold shower of the temp goes up too much.

Still have a light fever today. I hope this is typical.

My exercise bike arrived today. Now I have to get around to assembling it.

I am supposed to be doing some grocery shopping but no way I am walking that far with this fee were. But will go buy some ice-cream for mum. Don't want her to go two days without it.

This is a stationary bike. An air bike.
I strained my lower back in assembling the base. T then found that the rear base would not fit. So initiated a exchange.
Got another bike the next day and this one has a similar defect. The center rod won't go into the main unit.
So Amazon suggested a return/refund.
Today is a holiday so I will drive over tomorrow to one sports store and see if I can buy one there.

Went to the Holi event yesterday. Got some color powder splashed on me. Left before the free food arrived. They even had a drone flying above taking video.
