I tried to avoid the hype. But after watching his battle with RBA, I'm giving in.
He's the real deal!
He's the real deal!
You think Sinner can beat Rublev in the final? I'd love to see it!
I think he has a solid chance. You think Sinner can beat Rublev in the final? I'd love to see it!
This thread will be moved to the Results forum in under 5 minutes. At least that's what they always do to my similar threads.
...shall save tennis. @Lleytonstation
Good one, lol.Let me address your ridiculous memoranda, by laughing at all this propaganda,
You know this Sinner is just false hope, in order to find any talent you have to look under a scientific microscope,
So he made one Miami final without the big three, but we all know eventually we will see he is just a wannabe,
You think one final is something to talk about for the overhyped Sinner, but guess what, Jack Sock is also a Masters winner.
Only the 4th teenager to ever reach the miami final. the other 3 were djokovic, nadal, and agassi.
i'm telling ya Sinner is next up

So much for my prediction! You think Sinner can beatRublevPolish dude with last name starting with an H in the final? I'd love to see it!

What about Polish dude with last name starting with an H? Is that a big enough name?I'm a Sinner fan but waiting for him to get a big win at this level. I don't count RBA. That's very second tier.

An insipid tournament. These guys are at least 2 notches below Novak/Fed etc.
Or...he could just cut them in line. I remember talking about this during the '20 US Open. Those guys formerly labeled NextGen might have a microscopic window to cash their chips, maybe none at all, if the younger crop behind them are better. It'll be fun to watch it play out, one way or the other. He clearly seems to be the next big thing, but will has to wait a few years before assuming total dominance. All the young top guys like Thiem, Meddy, Rublev, Zverev, and Tsitsipas will have their time, however long or short, at the top before Sinner becomes the man in the next 3-4 years.
I'm increasingly leaning towards an era where nobody dominates or is far ahead of the rest. Especially Tsitsipas, Medvedev and Zverev rolling over in Miami just tells me they might nab a Slam but won't be much better than their peers. Sinners stats aren't high, and I'm inclined to think he'll lack the serve/return combo to be way ahead of the pack either.Or...he could just cut them in line. Sinner being better at 19 than those guys doesn't mean much. Hewitt was better than Federer at 19-21 and it didn't mean much in the end.Janik Sinner at 19 years of age is much better player than Tsitsipas, Medvedev, Zverev, Rublev or Thiem at 19 years of age ... Now, how would he further develop as a player going forward ? My guess future is bright for this guy, his mind seems to be in the right place ... I have never (or I do not recall) seen backhand with so much top spin and velocity, consistently, rallying with that shot is amazing ... Piatti is great but Sinner has to find his "Vajda" who can travel with him.
This guy with +10lbs of pure muscles ... ? Scary ...
BTW, did anybody notice how Rublev's physique is changing ... he is adding some "meat to the bone" ...
Hubert HurkaczYou think Sinner can beat Rublev in the final? I'd love to see it!
You predicted a loss for rafa in 2020 rg final too, my friend. So much for my prediction!
so he is less hyped than faa or any other player from north america. Sinner is younger than Thiem so he has enough years to win grandslams.Let me address your ridiculous memoranda, by laughing at all this propaganda,

his forehand is pretty good mind you. and why isnt his footwork never mentioned? One of the good things about sinner is besides his choking he really has a lot of room for improvement. Forehand can get heavier, stamina needs to improve, net game, serve, variety. BH is good and return seems pretty comfortable where for most next gens it’s a problem. If he stays disciplined and focused, he can go far
Exactly my point, he is quite good now but how will he develop is another matter.Sinner being better at 19 than those guys doesn't mean much. Hewitt was better than Federer at 19-21 and it didn't mean much in the end.
Plus he isn't too handsome to be ATG. He'll get classier and more refined with the years, as Federer did. The Vogue sponsor will help a lot with that. Much to the pleasure of @BeatlesFanHis name is appropriately short and catchy (unlike Felix Auger-Aliassime) for ATG material, so I will accept the hype.
An often overlooked criterion to determine ATG, might I add.
Sinner in 4 years.According to Sinner he's still peeling potatoes and has a ways to go before he becomes a chef!
You think Sinner can beat Rublev in the final? I'd love to see it!
Hope the Sinner wins, he reminds me of a young Djoker. Exciting times are coming surely.
I agree with your point but not your example. I saw 10 min of Tomic and thought he was way over hyped. His awkward strokes helped him get an edge early before he got figured out. He's tall and slow, but has no power on groundstrokes or serve.Exactly my point, he is quite good now but how will he develop is another matter.
Bernard Tomic was quite good and promising player at 19 ...
Yes, Tomic' peak was 2011 ... game changed in 10 years ...I agree with your point but not your example. I saw 10 min of Tomic and thought he was way over hyped. His awkward strokes helped him get an edge early before he got figured out. He's tall and slow, but has no power on groundstrokes or serve.
