I doubt you can put Ferrer ahead of Djokovic. Djokovic has won 3 clay court Masters titles and made it to the final of the FO. Ferrer has no clay Masters titles and has only once made it to the semis of the FO.

As for Murray, can we really put him ahead of 7-10, all of whom have won clay court titles unlike him? Frankly, I would place Murray at the bottom of that list.

Why is Federer ahead of Djokovic and Ferrer?

Also, Richard Gasquet and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga should be on that list instead of Juan Monaco and Gilles Simon.

Really? Federer has a clay Slam title and 6 clay Masters titles to his name.
Djokovic has no clay Slam title (at the time of posting) and 3 clay Masters titles. Ferrer has none of either.

I take back what I said, they should stay as they were when posted. However, I still stand by my second post.

Rafa
nole
delpo
federer
ferrer
berdych
Almagro
murray

Soderling could be about ferrers level. Verdasco is going backards, delpo has now moved to another level. People tend to underrate delpo, you got to remember last year davis cup in spain he looked good against nadal took a set off him and this week he might have beat fed but for a dodgy knee.

What other level has Delpo moved to? He has 2 clay titles (both 250s). How does that put him above Federer who has won the FO, Hamburg 4 times and Madrid twice?

You're talking about the past, this is now. Del potro lacked confidence in previous matches with federer, its only a matter of time before he beats federer again then he will get on a roll. Once he works a rally on to his forehand to feds backhand usally theres only one outcome. Feds going to decline in his movement now because of his age and on clay he will get found out esp next season i reckon.

Nice list. I think you forgot to add Wawrinka and Berdych maybe. If murray was to play Almagro tomorrow on slow clay I think the bookmakers would make Almagro favorite, thats a close call. I understand why you put murray there I wouldnt disagree too much.

Berdych, Almagro, Wawrinka, they would all beat Murray on clay. Murray shouldn't be in the discussion.

Almagro has a good shot, I will admit, but Berdych and Wawrinka?

Yeah you're right, Berdych definitely belongs on that list too. I basically just took the OP's list and rearranged it. Murray did make the semi last year and this year was a bit injured and fought an on fire Ferrer. But he can go up and down the list depending on form.

Berdych wiped the floor with Murray when they played at the French and the head to head on clay is 2-0 Berdych. I think Wawrinka would beat Murray more often than not, and he would be takrn apart by a specialist like Almagro.

If you're being pedantic and saying today as in June 10th, yes, Djokovic > Federer. You'd have to be an idiot to say that he's a greater player on the dirt than Fed having been to the finals of the FO once, while Fed has been there 5x and won once.

Well, when he does those things and equals Federer's tally of big clay titles, we can talk. Until then, Fed remains head and shoulders above Del Potro on clay.
