Tourna Irradiated 17 or Volkl Cyclone Tour 18

Hello all

I'm trying to solve my tennis elbow issues BUT find a set up I still play well with. Full bed multi is not an option - I hate it. So I'm looking for a softer poly that still has access to good spin to hybrid with Tourna Quasi Gut which I like.

The 2 polys I'm considering are
Tourna Irradiated 17 with a stiffness measurement of 154 or
Volkl Cyclone Tour 18 with a stiffness measurement of 159.

Both are much softer than the original Cyclone I'm currently using.

Can I ask people's experiences with the 2 strings I'm considering?

I switched from Cyclone 17 to Cyclone Tour 18. A lot more pop and a much softer feel from the tour versus the cyclone. I kept stringing at the same tension (45 lbs) but you might want to consider stringing it a little tighter as advised by the TW Playtesters. It's very easy for the ball to fly on you. I find if I don't hit the ball with the right technique, it's going to hit the backfence. If I get my feet set up and swing well then its a great feeling and the ball pops with a lot of spin. I really like the Cyclone Tour, can't comment on the Tourna string.

Is it a massive difference in power between the stock Cyclone? How about spin?

tourna big hitter silver 7 tour has the softness of cyclone tour 18 but also the sharpness of diadem solstice power (star shape) for extreme spin. If your arm still doesnt agree with that then it’s time to use gut/poly or multi/poly hybrid. I like signum pro poly plasma as crosses...very soft feel and great tension maintenance...i like 17L for maximum spin potential but at the cost of durability...can’t have everything [emoji2369]

I noticed a lot more power in the tour vs the regular cyclone. Definitely can experience trampoline effect. Hard to tell with spin, I'd say similar levels of spin.
