anyways, i'm wondering about using the underhand serve during the summer. i can barely see when i throw the ball up and when the sun's right there.

have you guys ever played anyone that did an underhand serve on you? i had somebody from my league pull that off at 4-3, with an underhand serve that resembled a drop shot. ohhhhh man, did it **** me off. i was caught off-guard, and even though i returned it, he just passed me afterwards.

for those who have tried it, has it worked at any of your tournaments?

ive been aced with an underhand dropshot serve many times. i usually get a laugh out of it. it only works once per match though.

I have to serve underhand because of an injury im recovering from. I hit a topspin forehand for the serve. Its probably about 60-75mph, stays low, can be placed, and after alot of hitting and matches so far since Ive started playing again, I havent played anyone yet thats been able to punish me for it. It doesnt win any free points though, unless someone just misses or goes for too much. It gets the point started and then I rely on the rest.

I love catching my opponent off guard. I use it when for fun when i play casually with my family, but when it comes to tournaments, i never think about doing it

The only time I use it is if the sun seems to get in my eyes no matter where I toss the ball and what service motion I use.

It was 40-all after a long 5+ CC forehand rally, and we were both obviously winded. I did a dink serve and got a fly ball as his reply. We both thought it was pretty funny, but I agreed to not do it again, lol. Just kinda felt like I was cheating.
