Update to Pure Storm Tour?

Hey, I recently hit with a Babolat Pure Control Team and it felt absolutely great. I could feel a little stiffness but its not that big. I feel that if I stick with this racquet for a few months then I could really help my strokes to develop. But the problem is what should I go to after my strokes are developed? I'm thinking about just buying a Babolat Pure Storm Tour blind and seeing how it hits b/c the Pure Control Team and the Babolat Pure Storm Tour have very similar specs, and the Pure Storm Tour is supposed to be an "upgrade" of the Pure Control Team.

I can just feel someone is going to say, "well, since we dont know your playing style we cant help you." So here it is:
I hold a semiwestern forhand and 1HBH. I'm a power/topspin beseliner that loves to come to net whenever I can. I can't help but do just spin/power first serves(trying to mix in flat serves, but my flat serves suck), and I do spin/kick serves on my second. Note that my serves suck, so I need a good serving racquet as well as a good serve returning racquet.. Need a racquet that can do good on volleys, as well as being able to do drop shots and such(I love to vary my game) as well as slices. Weight is no issue.

Does this match the Pure Storm Tour?

power baseliner to a serve and volley player can match the PST. the pure storm tour yes is an update to the pure control getting rid of the stiffness in the process and that's it. it allows for more comfort and a little less power but it's still powerful none the less i just could never get the depth i wanted in matches with it though. the PST was not a hard racquet to get used to. the PST has a really dead upper hoop so off center returns are not going to make it too far. this racquet is really good for flat serves, i wasn't feeling the spin serves. it has good volleys, touch, and spin potential. it's also a good racquet for one handers. i'm sure you'll be fine with it.

"Upgrade" is a fairly meaningless term. One is a very stiff frame and one is a relatively flexy frame. What does upgrade mean here? Given the increasing emphasis on power in the game, one could as easily see the PS Tour as a step backward from the PC.

Yes, you do hold a good point but I wasn't mearly focusing on the "upgrade".
But instead I was focusing on changing to a racquet that will better suit my game/standards as to help me get better and produce better results. Thx for the statement though.

what was your previous racquet history.

I started with a Walmart Prince racquet, then moved to a Wilson KSix-One Tour 90; the head was too small so then i moved to a Babolat Aero Storm; which I just didnt like at all. And now im going with the Babolat Pure Control Team Standard which feels really nice.

you should be fine with the PST then. it's quite a power drop from the aero storm but you should be able to adjust. it's a pretty easy adapting stick.

Yea, the power isn't the thing I'm worrying about as I can provide my own. Was just wondering if it was suited to my game. Thx for the help.

Perhaps I am the only one on this board who's very upset with this frame:(

From my experience the PST swing quite similar to the PC which is clumsy in my opinion.Very sluggish and need a lot of time preparing for a clean shot.May be it's a racquet design since I have played with many higher swingweight racquets that moved through the air wayyy better than the PST.

The worst part is the upper hoop is so dead.If you often strike the ball at the upper hoop(which I think most of 4.5 players or above do),forget this stick.Absolutely no power from that area. You need to strike the ball in the middle or lower part to get to the sweet spot.

The best thing I could find is the grip shape. It's so comfortable and nicely fit in my hand.

I am moving back to my HM 200G.

that's just you...i didn't have that problem. yes the upper hoop is dead but you're not supposed to hit there are you? just put a bunch of lead at 2 and 10 and it'll help it
