Instead of muddying up the other thread.... let's try to get some consensus.

so the junior results somewhat translates to recruiting potential.. I have seen this site

http://www.tennisrecruiting.net/

And I have played with a girl who is a 4 star and a boy who is 2 star... what would be an equivalent NTRP rating, these star players then? their star rating came from USTA and ITF results.

I'd think - 5/4 star = 5.0; 3/2 star = 4.5; 1 star = 3.5

reasonable?

I was a 1 star, now Freshmen in college, and I won a 4.0 tournament, 3 rounds and the one seed was ranked 4 in the section, and I lost less than 10 games the entire tournament, scores were something like 6-0 6-1, 6-2 6-0, 6-1 6-2 I don't remember exactly but they were all blowouts. I would say I'm like a 4.5, 5.0 not really sure. I always thought I was a 4.0 before playing that tournament

That would be 35 years after my time.
PeaLouie WON the women's CanadianOpen around '79. She graduated the year before. A 5.5 in high school, probably a little better after graduating.
RollieZalameda, who beat her in the CityChampionships, went straight to #4 for CanadaCollege, playing well in some B tournies, but like me, skipped straight to A/Opens.
MichaelGee graduated in '80, went straight to solid B's (4.5). But he was 5'6" tall, a "huge" handicap.
StanleyWoo went straight to #1 at CityCollege, playing in the B's ...average.
DexterLee went straight to #2 at CCSF (above), and following year, into low A's.
I got intrigued with teaching tennis, got bored, and got back into motocross racing.

ok that makes sense to me.... I think star recruits should be 4.5, especially in the Middle states which is not a hot bed like FL or CA.

The juniors don't have USTA ratings for a reason, they are beyond them. Juniors are competing for resources to become the next pro sensation. Once you reach the point where your mental strength determines whether you win or lose ratings cease to be applicable.

not necessarily the next pro sensation.... the website is for college recruiting...

the intent was to put some kind of gauge in place, because college recruiting is IMO a lot more normalized, then the generic NTRP, which vary from area to area
