Not true. I spent 5 days at the RNA & Sports Center last year. The facilities are open to the local community, there is no entrance fee and many of them make use of it.

Ask the 'expatriate local' to tell you the truth. Rafa’s sports centre houses the Rafa Nadal Club, a recreational multi-sport club that offers a wide variety of programs and activities (fitness, tennis, padel, swimming, football, HBX boxing, social dance ...) for local people of all ages.
