Verdasco's fh, most underrated shot in tennis?

Verdasco's fh is my all time favorite fh. It has good spin and the power is devastating when he flattens it. Roddick once said it Verdasco has the biggest fh in the game. Federer obviously has the greatest fh but Verdasco must be at least on par with Blake, Del Potro, Gonzalez, Berdych, Söderling, Roddick on the fh department.

I'm more surprised by how hard and flat Djokovic hits his first serve there. What happened to it? I like topspin in groundstrokes and 2nd serves but I'm not a fan of spinny first serves. Those should just be bombs. Are we going to see topspin volleys as well 10 years from now?

About Tabasco: I thought it was already pretty common knowledge among tennis fans that he has (or at least used to have) one of the best forehands in the game. Very powerful, excellent technique with the right amount of topspin.

Verdasco is one of my favs. That said, i dont think his FH is underrated.

Yes, his forehand can be lethal when he applies it correctly. Unfortunately, I'd have more luck finding Donald Young's lost talent than seeing Verdasco adopt it on a consistent basis.

It is quite monstrous. But when you're 6' 2" and built like a linebacker, you're going to get some series revolutions. The guy is ridiculously ripped even by ATP standards.

Not underrated at all. When's he's playing well enough to play visible marquee marches (which has been a while), lots of people acknowledge his forehand. Commentators always noted it when he was a top 10 player.

Probably not underrated but we always forget his fh when we talk about elite fhs. He has also a very good serve. If only he has a mentality of a Nadal or Djokovic...

I can kind of see that point. Gonzalez forehand gets lots of mention, but Verdasco's is also bad ass, plus lefty. That's tricky stuff.

Love Verdasco's forehand. I think his forehand is up there with Federer's, aesthetically speaking.

IMO he has top 3 best looking forehands ever. Straight arm, lefty and that viscous shoulder turn. I actually prefer it over Fed's, aesthetically speaking.

Cochet and Tilden are outliers in that list...I can't imagine their forehands and from footage I've seen it's not impressive. Verdasco could be squeezed in

Connors? Nah, it was Goldfine and John Roddick who took Andy to the gutter. Connors actually gave him a much needed confidence boost in 2006. Roddick lost in straight sets to "baby-Murray" and dropped out of the top 10 for the first time in years. Once he hooked up with Jimbo, he won Cincy, got to the USO final. With Connors, Roddick at least got consistent. His ranking went back up to 3 in 2007.
