About the Vote

HOW IT WORKS:

During the live shows, judges will give a score based on several factors, including technical execution. But the judges' scores alone do not decide a couple's fate.

Phone lines, text votes (AT&T customers only) and online polls will open at the top of each Monday night performance show so that viewers can vote for their favorites. Phone and text lines will stay open for 30 minutes after the end of the show. Online voting will remain open until noon (Eastern Time) on the day of the results show.*

The following day, in the Dancing with the Stars Results Show (premiering Tuesday, March 25 at 9/8c), the couple with the lowest combined score from judges and viewer votes (although not necessarily the two lowest-scoring couples overall) will be eliminated from the competition.**

The scoring is divided evenly between the judges and the viewers at home, ensuring unpredictable outcomes at the end of every show. When the final two couples remain, the ultimate dance-off will determine who wins the trophy.

*In Week One, online voting opens on Monday at the start of the show for couples on that nights show and closes the next day at noon (Eastern Time). The online vote then reopens for the couples dancing on the Tuesday show and closes the next day at noon (Eastern Time).

**Votes are tallied and combined with the second week's performances for the first elimination in the first Results Show, airing Tuesday March 25. The male star and the female star with the lowest combined scores from the judges and the viewers' vote will be eliminated from the competition, along with their partners.

So it looks like the fat woman, the deaf woman, & the senior citizen all possess more grace, coordination, & rhythm than Monica could ever dream of having.

Looks like Nick B was right, she is/was a ridiculously poor, awkward athlete. But she sure was a good ball-striker.

I actually didn't think she was all that bad but I would agree that she looked uncomfortable. Only time will tell if she can improve...if she manages to remain on the show. I voted for her.

I'm disappointed, she should just kept sitting on the step ! I'm pulling for Monica but as soon as she started dancing I could tell she was nervous and looked very stiff. Hopefully the nervousness will go away and she will perform better, as many of us hope she will.

Looks like the poor girl never danced in her life. She said she didn't have a normal upbringing. Never been to a prom..like most WTA players I suspect.

Thanks for the link. But, I don't know if I can stand to watch it again. Too painful. Glad she got the opportunity, however. Maybe she will stick around for one more week and we can see how she handles a Latin dance.

Well I am sure she has no coordination for dancing but I am pretty sure she has some sort or form of coordination, I refuse to believe she was top of the bunch with no coordination at all.

She is a poor athlete, you just need one look to conclude this but I think she had to be so good at her strenghts to make up for her weak spots, so in tennis terms I guess she was as good shot maker as you get plus very reliable when on the ball.

Lots of co-ordination and flexibily & confidence as a tennis player (except for the 2 years after she was stabbed) but NO CONFIDENCE as a dancer We've all seen what lack of confidence does to a tennis player, same with dancing. Or anything else that people try to do.

YES I Can has to be Monica's mantra.

Almost Top Professional Tennis Players dont have a normal upbringing. Seles is more of the rule than the exception.

Ouch, that' harsh! She is out of her element but I feel that she did her turns well and good presentation- sassy. I hope she does better than we expect. In any case, it's all for fun and she is just doing it for the pleasure like the rest of the celebrities I am sure.

As soon as Monica releases her book I will get a copy too.
