WCT Special Events

In the period of maximum popularity the WCT decided to organize (in addition to the circuit tournaments to which ATP awarded points and the Finals that were disputed in Dallas, to which ATP did not attribute points) some important special events.
They were invitations tournaments outside the WCT circuit and out ATP.
ATP later decided to consider them (together with the Pepsi Grand Slam that was disputed in Boca Raton) while all the other inviteted tournaments did not fall into the count.
There is obviously a bit of confusion in having this choice was made, however, basically all the invitations tournaments were excluded from ATP with exclusion therefore Pepsi (Boca Raton) and WCT special events.
What are WCT special events?

I think that are strange, so interesting, two peculiarities of these tournaments:
- the tie-break at 5-5 (and not 6-6) in the Challenge Cup & ToC;
- the only tournament recognized by ATP with 6 players (Tournament of champions edition 1979), structured with a particular format: each player played against the others 5 and the first two played the final.
