what difference between poly-main/gut-cross and gut-main/poly-cross?

I want to ask you on hybrid string.
But before asking, let me share my experience.
I used Technifibre multi such as X-one 17 or NRG2 17.
I am not a string breaker.

I am told the main string is more breakable than the cross string. But usually I found the cross string was worn out and broke first.

1)
So, now I want to try hybrid: Babolat natural gut and Lux poly.
Most of all used natural gut for main and poly for cross, i am told.
But in my case, what if main-gut / cross-poly in terms of durability.
Is it right thought?

2)
My second question is what difference between poly-main/gut-cross and gut-main/poly-cross? What is different feel, softness, power, spin, and control between two setting?

Any comment, appreciated!

There is a big ifference in the 2 hybrids, the main string does most of the work with a little help from the cross ie gut mains will be powerful and have great feel, the poly cross with stiffen up the strinbed a touch will add control and a help with spin. I find this is the best hybrid.
Poly main gut cross is a waste of good money imo, just play a good poly, I have never felt much difference when playing this hybrid to a full poly set up.
As for durability....this is were the problem lies. The best gut/poly hybrid imo is VS (or Pacific prime) main and Alu rough cross, great power, amazing spin and feel, problem is the AluRough cuts thro the gut in no time, even if you are not a string breaker and especially if you hit will lots of topspin.
Im playtesting a few atm, blue gear is like a poor mans alu rough but doesnt cut into the gut as much and I think id rather have PHT instead which lasts a bit longer the AluR but doent have quite the same spin.
What Im finding is a smooth poly plays real nice witha gut main, Im playtesting alu power (more control) and polystar energy (more power/feel), a greasy elastic cheap poly that Davydenko is reported to use. They are both very good atm. Ive noticed that the playability is much longer added to the fact that its not chewing on my gut also helps. This is the way to go for me especially during the warmer months. Now thats its cold ive gone full poly as my gut is not responding great to the weather and dampness.

One other factor in gut main poly cross set up is the lenght of time the strings are playable is much longer than than poly/gut. This is due to the poly going dead quicker but when its in the cross it has less affect on the stringbed as the gut main is still like a duracel battery.

That might be confusing to some people but I think I understood it lol..

Umm playability of gut mains/poly cross would be higher than poly mains/gut cross. But you do sacrifice durability.

Polys go dead in around 10-12 hours so why not go with gut mains though?
