Undoubtedly Federer was tested today by the most in form player that any of the big 3 faced in the QF. The better player period. Querrey didn't pan out because he didn't serve a high enough % and can't back up his 2nd serve against elite players often enough if he's having to depend on it. Goffin just faded away and I won't get anyone too riled up about how I think Djokovic looks except I'll say that he better start serving better or he's not winning a 5th Wimbledon. Nishikori can hang with the top dogs when he's fresh and feeling it a little like he was today. His serve was always going to be a tad vulnerable and Fed repeatedly exploited it, with venom I might add. It got lost in the translation with his failing to convert, but the shots are/were there. His movement was good. His serve was solid. He kicked arse at net. From 2nd - 4th sets he was 38/20 W/UE, 79-80% service points won, 45-46% return points won, He won 15 straight points at the net in sets 2 & 3. Literally, everything was clicking except ONE THING and that is BP's.
If he plays like he did today from Set 2-4 and converts a BP here and there, he'll beat Nadal. I expect Djokovic to crank it up for the SF btw. Honestly, I wasn't impressed enough to make him into this unbeatable monster yet, lol. He's Djokovic though and I expect him to step it up like he so often does. I'm not jumping on anyone's hype train until they show what they got in the SF. It's anyone's Wimbledon except for RBA until further notice in my book. Just my thoughts. And to hell with kneeling to Djokovic and Nadal. Believe in Federer. He's 37 yeah. This is Wimbledon and he's playing well, so enjoy it ffs. I'm not worried about these trolls or the H2H. Fed is GOLD. Fed is MONEY NO MATTER WHAT YA'LL!
