Federer fan here. I do believe he is the underdog though against Nadal. I just don't feel he is in complete top form, whereas Nadal is and also the court &/or tennis balls are playing very slow which advantages Nadal. Stilll be cheering for Fed though....

Federer has to play confidently, especially off the backhand side. He has to step into the ball and take it early.

More 50/50 than most people would expect.
Perhaps 60/40, if Federer activates the neo-backhand and plays with AUS 2017 strategies of short rallies and good serving, Nadal will SWEAT for his meal.

Not confident? Howcome?

I fancy Nadals chances, but it wouldn't be a surprise to me if Fed won either.
Rafa just looks too good at the moment. Plus, I am not that lucky.

Fed is at the point where he fluctuates too much in a match to sustain against a Djoker or Rafa. Last time at AO17 was the last time I think we will see that.

I don’t know what to expect for Federer Nadal but I am quite confident it’s a losing battle vs Djokovic he just hasn’t had to exert any energy to get to the sf and I expect a straight set win vs RBA.

Hard to see Fedal going anything less than 4

Given form, hunger (self perceived only I can’t obviously measure it) I think RAFA has the much better chance against Djokovic than Federer does even on grass. Federer had his chances in 2014/2015 and I lost belief in his ability vs Djokovic pretty permanently after that. But nothing wrong with that as it’s not like many if any are beating him nowadays.

I’m of the opinion Nole is a sizable favorite vs both.

I feel confident in Rafa but Roger could definitely win. I call about a 60-40 percent chance. Nothing set in stone.

As for Djokovic and RBA, I see no reason to think RBA hasn’t a prayer. For one thing we know RBA has beaten him twice this year and secondly, is it possible Djokovic hasn’t been challenged enough thus far, leaving him not enough battle tested? Although yes, I do think it’s likely he will prevail over the Spanish contender.

It's terrible, of course. If Fed loses, he's a weak era mug again and age is but an excuse; if he wins, predator fraud profiting from poor RAFA's decline and age and disgusting grassbotting. In short, a loss would count but a win would not. No good may come of it.

If Nole returns like in AUS 2019...

Have not watched much of either so can't tell but Rafa looked REALLY fired up after he beat Sam today so I think he is ready.

Not even the most insane VB member could deny Fed the credit for a win on Friday.. surely?

OT: 40% confident in Federer. Just have this nagging we’re going to see more of their RG SF 2nd set... IE ridiculous passing shots after multiple Fed would be winners.

Undoubtedly Federer was tested today by the most in form player that any of the big 3 faced in the QF. The better player period. Querrey didn't pan out because he didn't serve a high enough % and can't back up his 2nd serve against elite players often enough if he's having to depend on it. Goffin just faded away and I won't get anyone too riled up about how I think Djokovic looks except I'll say that he better start serving better or he's not winning a 5th Wimbledon. Nishikori can hang with the top dogs when he's fresh and feeling it a little like he was today. His serve was always going to be a tad vulnerable and Fed repeatedly exploited it, with venom I might add. It got lost in the translation with his failing to convert, but the shots are/were there. His movement was good. His serve was solid. He kicked arse at net. From 2nd - 4th sets he was 38/20 W/UE, 79-80% service points won, 45-46% return points won, He won 15 straight points at the net in sets 2 & 3. Literally, everything was clicking except ONE THING and that is BP's.

If he plays like he did today from Set 2-4 and converts a BP here and there, he'll beat Nadal. I expect Djokovic to crank it up for the SF btw. Honestly, I wasn't impressed enough to make him into this unbeatable monster yet, lol. He's Djokovic though and I expect him to step it up like he so often does. I'm not jumping on anyone's hype train until they show what they got in the SF. It's anyone's Wimbledon except for RBA until further notice in my book. Just my thoughts. And to hell with kneeling to Djokovic and Nadal. Believe in Federer. He's 37 yeah. This is Wimbledon and he's playing well, so enjoy it ffs. I'm not worried about these trolls or the H2H. Fed is GOLD. Fed is MONEY NO MATTER WHAT YA'LL!

Not worried about the court speed or Nadal's supposed current top form. All I'm worried about is Federer's mentality and how he'll handle the pressure (which I think will be more on him).

But overall, confident.

I am rooting for Fed, but given Nadal's form, the playing conditions, and how slow Fed has been hitting his stride in a couple of games, I wouldn't be surprised if it went Rafa's way. I am just hoping for a really good game.

goat's backhand hasn't been all there but today against Nishi it was lookin better. I like how he had this huge matchup just a few weeks ago at the FO, so I think he got that fedal anxiety out of him there. His expressions and face have been a little more serious I've noticed so I think he's going for the kill here, whereas at the FO it was like oh sh_t I'm playing the king of clay. For me, I'd kill just to see a 5 setter, but either way happy for the guy who plays the best tennis out there

I always want Rafa to win Fedal matches but this one is on Fed. He is the grass GOAT defending his own turf just as Rafa did at RG recently. Fed must win, for Rafa, another win at Wimby over Fed is a bonus as he has already defended last year's points.

Pressure is on Fed. Interested to see how he handles it. I hope he can avoid a slow start like against Harris and Kei. If he starts slow, Rafa will pounce and not look back. Trying not to set any expectations as a fan. Just hoping he will play well

I think the match is going to be dope and it's going to smell blood as always with Nadal.

If Nadal is fit he is invincible. If Fed wins Nadal's camp will blame fed's lack of education.

Fed huge underdog. 38 years old slow grass lack of fitness compared to Nadal like most players.

Federer has a ton on the line. A win keeps Nadal 2 slams behind. A loss will pretty much end Fed’s chances of ever winning another slam title while two much younger players will have time to pass him.

I think that this Wimbledon is paramount in the slam title race. Fed really needs to beat Nadal and he knows it.

I am picking Fed in an epic 5 set win. Why? Because Fed desperately needs it.

I am excited and scared at the same time for Fed.

Definitely nervous and not confident about Federer's chances. But I never really am tbh. Just hope that regardless of the outcome it's a good match. Obviously hoping Federer wins the whole thing above all.
