You've actually summed up pretty much exactly what I do eat during the change of ends from time to time; energy bars and bananas.

For a quick sugar hit when I need it I often have a small chocolate which is high in sugar concentration...remember small :)

I suggest a chicken leg wrapped in aluminum foil. Ivan Lendl used to eat them between sets in Champioship matches. Therefore everyone else here is blatantly wrong as no-one here could ever beat Lendl. (wow thinking like Mav Jolly and Chess can be fun!)

i ALWAYS eat a kit-kat chunky half way through. i don't know if it does anything but it tastes bloody good and i must have it.
and drink only wa'er. gatorade is disgusting.

i live in southern arizona. pretty much everyday is sunny day here. temperature is around 95-105. i would love to put chocolates in my tennis bag but i am pretty sure it would melt down. haha however i still would try though.

I've had energy bar/ power bar before. it was damn disgusting. i probably had bad one. what flavor do you eat or suggest?

The best PowerBar flavors IMO are Cookies & Cream, Banana and Vanilla Crisp. A little warm is good because they get softer and easier to eat but keep them from getting too hot, they'll stick to the wrapper and you'll look pretty goofy trying to eat them. When I'm eating them at work, I put them on the wireless router for a few minutes and they reach a nice temp :)

Oh my lord, are you kidding me, gatorade is nice, maybe you had a bad experience with a dodgy flavor, try lemon lime or the red or the blue one.

Maybe lucozade might be your go?

All un-natural stuff is gross. If you want to look like a model eat natural unpackaged un-processed food.

match food

I prefer to eat fruits, like oranges, grapes, and best of all watermelon. I think they def. give me the nutrients i need to keep going.

Did anyone notice that if Roger and Andy ate anything during their match yesterday? Obviously with commercials, they could have had a quick something, but if so, I missed it.
The big problem with eating during a high intensity match is the potential for intestinal cramping. That's why the best advice is to stick with the carbohydrate supplements in a readily absorbable drink that also contains electrolytes like Gatorade. Even full strength Gatorade can cause intestinal cramps. I dilute mine to half gatorade and half water.

perfect advice, water is too thin and can cause problems without electrolytes, sports drinks are too thick.

I like to order chinese or bring some chinese or vietnamese food on court. I'm usually coming from the boxing gym and the regulars at the courts now tell the story about me eating complete meals before playing a few sets.
Sometimes I bring other forms of ethnic food but it's also usually a complete hot cooked complex meal. Exactly what you're not "supposed" to eat....ooops
