What happened to Nadal's passing shots?

I remember 'going to the net and inviting Rafa for passes' meant death 90% of the times. Since 2015, there has been a sharp decline in his passing shots. In fact, apart from improvement in Federer's backhand, this is one of the primary reasons Federer has been able to turn around the rivalry. There can be occasional brilliance but nowadays there is no fear in an opponent's eyes when they go to the net against Rafa. What went wrong? It's not just him but passing shots have become poor for Nishikori too.

Stupid story about peaks, primes, losing a steps or two ... Everyone is getting slower, everyone has ups and downs in carrier... Carrier form is not strait line up and than down, its fluctuating... And if Novak has more "peaks", and longer peaks (or Nadal, or Federer) its sign of greatness and should be praised...
