What is the balance point on your Yonex 97HD?

I demoed this racket loved it and bought it with the same string Head Velocity MLT 16g. My racket feels more head heavy than the demo but strangely they weighed exactly the same at 11.85 oz. My balance point is 32.13cm which is slightly more head heavier than the spec 31.98cm. I wish I measured the balance on the demo...My racket feels significantly more powerful than the demo. Partly because I strung it at only 48 lb; not sure what tension the demo came with 52lb?

Please tell me the strung weight & balance point of your 97 HD without dampener. Thanks!

i got one to try but too cumbersome for me...VCP100 with heavy replacement grip + 1g lead tape at 10/2 feels perfect for me

If you are really worried about qc you should measure it unstrung and without overgrip. Mine was 320.5g, 312mm balance, which is pretty much spot on to its listed specs. Mine strung + overgrip: 341.7g, 323mm. I then customized it with 5g of lead in the buttcap with the resulting weight of 346.7g, 321mm balance.

As for strings, I know TW usually string demos with poly at around 52lbs. If I were to guess, they probably would string the ones with multi higher at maybe 55lbs. I personally would not be able to play with this racquet strung with Velocity at 48lbs as it's just too springy, but string setup is highly personal, so you should stick with whatever works for you.

All that aside, if you do feel it to be slightly too head heavy, you can easily open the buttcap and put some lead or blue tac in to make it head lighter.

My measurement is stock except the string. I then added a penny(.08 oz) +dime(.07 oz) + thin sponge in the butt = 12.02 oz (341 g)

I have added a leather grip (Fairway - 25g) and 4g at 3 and 9, so it's kind on the heavy side (360g with OG and dampener).
Do you guys know any leather grip that weights between 17-20 grama, so I can lower the static weight?

Originally, the rackets came with 322g unstrung, balance 31cm and SW 299.5

Yonex qc has been extremely good in my experience so it's likely your string gauge is what's causing the balance to feel different. Power is due to the tension as Arak mentioned above. I had some screw ups learning how to string recently and ended up with velocity in my mains at 50 with lynx in the crosses at 48. Unless I'm swinging full western grip like I'm using a Clash 100 Tour, every ball is hitting the back fence. I had thought the poly tension would have more influence on the string bed, but the velocity is uncontrollable.

Also had put in Velocity at 50 on my flexpoint prestige mid thinking I need the help.... there is no control to be had. Try stringing in the middle of the recommended tension range with the 17 gauge.

Yup I think it's too loose, I get less control & feel but too much power. Hence I took off the dampener, then it felt better with more feel and control and even more power. I had never used multi before and didn't know what tension the demo was at except it was loose then I saw tennisnerd's review he initially put 48lb on poly, he didn't like it then changed to $44 and liked it. So I thought I would add 4lb and take off the vibration dampener that's why I strung at 48. How much tension do you put on Live Wire XP 17 full bed? I am a recreational player and care more about comfort & having fun than winning.
