What is the stiffest poly you have ever tried?

Babolat Tour Duralast 15l. Used the rest of the reel to make a chainlink fence.

Odd thing is, I think this string is really comfortable and seems long lasting too (in terms of playability, obviously it's durable in terms of breakage).

I've been using the 1.30 in my APD for a few weeks now, still plays well, nice on the arm (I play almost every day too). Got another set of it waiting to go but no need to use it so far.

Strange, but true. (Not sure I'd recommend it to stringing customers mainly because of what other people say about it but I like it).

^^^I used to string it for a coach friend of mine who had used it on tour when he was a junior and didn't know anything else, so when he had to retire at 21 injured he just kept using it for coaching! The number of times I stabbed myself in the fingers with that **** is unbelievable!

^^^Well, It is a bit wierd to string, really slippery.

I think the stiffest string I've used (strung with and played with) would be Toalson Rencon, didn't like that string at all.

According to the 'string selector' list here...

Pacific Poly Force 16L is the stiffest poly. Duralast is high but not that high (spotted Rencon in the list, above Duralast 16 which makes sense to me).

Stiffest... hmm.. some of the Lux 1.38 come to mind but they aren't really hard to string.

PH 1.30 is nasty on a full string bed. This one British lad gave me some 1.40 shaped poly that was stiffest I've dealt. I think it was called Titan or something.. can't remember the string. Remember the name as he was nice

So far the stiffest I've used is Babolat Pro Hurricane 16g

Same here. The first match I used it, I was playing amazingly and really swinging out with great success. Problem was after that match I didn't know anything about how polys die so I kept using it with less and less success each time, waiting for it to "soften up" or "break in", but it just got deader and stiffer as the matches added up, finally giving me massive TE. I'll never touch that stuff again. Makes kevlar look like rubber bands.

Did he retire due to an arm/shoulder/wrist injury?

Luxlilon's Adrenaline is freaking stiff man! It hurts my elbow even with I do hybrid with it. It has great control and spin though, but man this thing is freaking stiff! just check the chart, it outrank all other luxilon strings

Babolat Duralast (the original transparent yellow version), and PHT are on top of my list. Oh and anyone used Big Banger 5 Star before?

So, I strung up my babolat pure drive (custom made to 29 inches) with babolat pro hurricane 16g at 90 lb today.

I LOVED IT. I'm probably gonna be staying above 80 from now on :3

Prince problend has a stiffness rating of 981?!!! WHAT?!

the kevlar man.. not the synthetic gut.. but i believe that. Kevlar doesn't stretch AT ALL. No change in it whatsoever whatever the tension is.. I won't ever use that stuff. just hurts my arm thinking about it.

Gott agree with this one as the absolute worst poly we have ever tested. Like playing with a brick and also horrible to string.

Cheers, TennezSport

Is the early yellow string different to the current natural one? (which is opaque).

I really like the current Duralast 1.30 in my APD. Very punchy and seems to last ages, doesn't feel boardy either.
