What should be the year end Ranking of Gasquet?

spinbalz

I think he will reach the top 50 if he stays focused en consistent during the entire rest of the year, or top 25 if he can add to the consitency and his Monte-carlo result, 1 or 2 more great result in a master event or in a slam.

Max G.

Depends on consistency. He's had some great streaks before, but he's fizzled out and not made it into anything resembling consistency.

I say top 50 at best.

Gasquet's a headcase, and he tanks a lot of his matches (or just retires) when he doesn't feel like playing anymore...If he becomes more consistent he could be in the top 30 soon.

Maybe he can get to the top 30 in 2 years, but this year i think he will struggle to get in the top 50. He will get in the top 30 eventually because if he stays healthy and gets no major injuries he still has another 10 years.

Aren't you jumping the gun a little as to suggesting he should be high-ranked just because he beat Federer once? That boy has a long way to go in terms of skill and consistency.

Hope he could break the top 30,but we should look slowly.....
Btw:
Gasquet beats federer and now there are 100Threads about him here, how i like this "winning fans" :p

GTS072, he didn't just beat beat Federer once, he won 16 matches in a raw including victories against several spanish players on clay, including Mantilla, also against Davidenko, also against Federer, gave a hell of a match to Nadal the hot player of the moment N°2 at the race and finaly only because he ran out of gas, add to that that he reached the 1/2 final of a master series, and take a look at the quality of the game he produced, so if you seriously believe that it is the kind of performance usually produced by the players only ranked around 100, please take some pills and have a good rest.

He could be a top 20 players. Lower part of the top 20. It will be his only win over Fed this year, take that to the bank! Especially if they dont play on clay again. :)

According to Nadal, who unlike us, actually played Gasquet, no?

Q. When Gasquet was not playing well, did you never ask around your friends, what about Gasquet , where he is playing? He's almost disappear for two years.

RAFAEL NADAL: Yeah, sometimes I ask for Gasquet , but, you know, the tennis is that, no. He's playing good now. He have confidence. I think he go up in the ranking, no. I think he finish the ranking in the Top 30, I think, no?

And the last years I think he have a lot of pressure for the French. And now he have Monfils and change the pressure, you know. I think he's better ‑‑ that is better for him, no?

Why does Nadal always says no at the end of his sentences?

Because he's still not quite comfortable with English, and by asking "no?" at the end, he's inquiring whether what he said makes sense. Lots of the Spanish-speaking players do that.

In an interview in Miami, he said about his English: "I speak half English, half Chinese."

The "half Chinese" statement is a common Spanish analogy for someone who is understandable in English about half the time.

Although he's actually doing better than that. His English has improved a lot in the past year.

No I don't think this kind of performance comes from players ranked around 100. He needs to have this consistency in EVERY tournament to claim that status and IMO its just too early to judge that. Also he needs to get off the clay and see how his results will be on other surfaces. By the way, I suggest you lay off the pills and LIGHTEN UP.

Spinbalz,

Gasquet ...is awesome because he is French

Technifibre....is awesome because it is French

Yannick Noah...is awesome because he is French.

Monfils...is awesome because he is French

OK Mr. Frenchman. We get all of your points. Why don't you just be more direct in the future and just come out and say what you believe: The french are better than everyone else and we Americans are just fat and stupid.

Now now, Gasquet is a fun player to watch unlike just about any tennis player we are putting out on the ATP these days. Its sad that most people here (America) speak ill or have opinions of other countries, and have never even been there.... Its kind of funny what people around the world think about the "American spirit", and I don't find most of it to be offensive because it is much truth as I don't find myself blinded by patriotism to the point of stupidity.

According to Pusher terminator :

Gasquet is not good and has no future in tennis because he is French.

Monfils is not good and has no future in tennis because he is French.

Tecnifibre racquets are junk because they are French products

Noah doesn't deserve his entry in the Hall of Fame because he is French.

According to me, Pusher terminator is stupid not because he is american, he is stupid just because he is.

If I support things only because they are French, then why do I say many bad things about The Babolat Pure Drive, why did say bad things about the Tecnifibre T-Fight 315 (as opposed of what you suggest that I write about Tecnifibre products), why did I say bad things about Babolat Syntronic Brio strings?

Does the fact that I'm French forbids me to say good things about French players or products when they are actually good? Should it be forbiden for amreican posters to say good things about Roddick, Agassi, Blake, Wilson racquets when they are actually good.

You should learn that Gasquet and Monfils are recognised all over the tennis as future great players, not only in France.

You should know that Noah was awesome not because he was french, but simply because he had a great career, and won 1 slam event, can you do better than him? I doubt so shut up.

And why do I say good thing about Federer from Switzerland, or Nadal who is spanish and Gasquet's rival?

You show so much bad faith in each of your posts, that the only thing that I want to tell you poor Pusher Terminated is : Lick my @ss and or forget me. Time for me to black list you, I waste too much time to answer your stupid statements.

By the way, the subject of my thread is about gasquet's ranking at the end of this year, and I said that it should be between 50 and 25, which seems realistic given what he showed recently, and which is a not so great ranking anyway, it is not like if I would have suggested a top 10 ranking, so I can't don't understand how Pusher can see any French biased in my post, it looks like Mr Pusher is just always ready to jump after me and after anything from France and will always try to be critic against anything from France.

I don't know what my country did to this poor guy, but apparently it brought a lot of trouble in his *******ed mind, so all apologize for all the horrible things that I imagine that my country must have done to you Pusher.

And your comment about France and Saudi Arabia, just show your racist nature or your ignorance, poor redneck. And I will resist to the tentation to be sarcastic about USA in answer to your attack against me and France in general, just by respect for the other posters, Pusher, you can be as much sarcastic as you want, you won't bring me to a level as deeply low as yours.

Spinbalz,

Everything that is French you say is the best...

Technifibre is the greatest racquet of all time

Yannick Noah is awesome

Monfils is incredible

and now you are starting with Gasquet.

Lets take a wild guess.....the French open is the greatest grand slam...right?...HMMMMM is there a common theme in your posts?

What is your point? Just come out and say it already? You just think you are better than everyone. Now who is the racist? Calling me a redneck? Thats what you really think about all Americans isn't it? Please don't resist making comments about the USA? We all already know what you think about us. You have already called us fat and stupid in other posts.

As usual your post is full of bad faith :

Exemple 1 :
You say that I think that Tecnifibre are the greatest racquet of all time, but I never said it, please, please quote one of my sentences to prove your point if you can, I said very good things on some Tecnifibre racquets in the past (T-fight 270, T-Flash 290), and also said that I was not very pleased with some other tecnifibre racquets (T-Feel 305, T-Fight 315), If I was biased I wouldn't say bad things about T-Fight 315 and T-Feel 305. An other exemple comes with the Babolat Syntronic Brio string that I recently totally killed in the string section of this forum, I also said that I never liked the Babolat Pure Drive. And anyway I use Völkl and Head racquets since many years, and many excellent reviews about racquets like the LM Radical Tour, Völkl C10 pro & Pro Tour, and many other head and Völkl racquets, and as far as I know, these products are not French, so it is easy to see that i'm not biased concerning tennis products.

Exemple 2: you write that I claimed that Monfils is incredible, Where did I say that? Nowhere. Of course I wrote some good things about him, but am I the only one?

Exemple 3: you "guess" that I think that the French open is the greatest slam event, hahaha where did I say that? Nowhere. Personnaly I rank all the slams on par.

Exmeple 4: when I call you a redneck, I simply say that about YOU and ONLY YOU, so please don't put in my mouth things that I never said like when you suggest that it is what I think about all americans, because I never said anything like that, insulting Pusher terminator is not insulting America, or do you think that you are so important that "YOU ALLONE" are America.

You say that in a previous I called the americans stupid, but where did I wrote it? Nowhere. Pure invention from your part once again, and if you are right, then quote my guilty sentence to prove it.

And about the Fat comment, I perfectly remember it, it was a ripost to one of your countless stupid and xenophobic posts, where you once again found a way to insult my country by claiming that the French are cowards and racists. You started the fire, so I riposted, like you deserved it.

You want me to write bad comments about USA? I won't, because I already told you that you won't bring me to a level as deeply low as yours. I have more class than you.

And please stop to put in my words things that I never said, or quote my sentences if you can to prove your points. of course you won't quote anything because there is nothing to quote.

You ask who is the racist? Well it is you, but you are not just a racist , you are also a big @SS HOLE, who always try to deform the truth in your posts to help to prove your points.

Thats because you can't argue with me. All of your stupid posts are about how great the French are. You are an ego maniac who thinks he is better than everyone else because you are French. Well I am here to tell you that the party is over Frenchie. From now on everytime you make a post about how wonderful the French are I will be there to stick it up your Narcissistic French ass. If you have something to say OTHER than how wonderful the French are then no problem!... Now run away like your yellow belly country always has run away from everything. In fact did you hear that the French tanks have five gears......the fifth is in reverse..... just in case they get attacked from the front!

he was having an orgasm over the Technifibre before it was even on the US market...was it because it was such a great racquet or was it because he was French?

He thinks Noah is so incredible with his one stupid grand slam.....the French open of course!

Now he is going nuts over Gasquet....why don't we all take a guess which country he is from?

Since Marius quoted you Pusher, I can see what you wrote, and when you write that I can't argue with you, my response is obviously : YES, I CAN'T ARGUE WITH YOU, and anyway NOBODY CAN ARGUE WITH YOU, due to your bad faith, your ignorance of the truth, and tennis history, due to the fact that you always distord and stretch every words and sentences that peoples say, due to the fact that you put words that they never said in peoples mouthes, due to the fact that you are a liar, due to your paranoïa that makes you see a way to criticize USA in every strangers posts, due to the xenophobia that you show in general and against France and Arabians in particular, due to the fact that YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING, so yes, NOBODY CAN ARGUE WITH YOU, and WE CAN DO NOTHING TO MAKES YOU BETTER, so I give up, sorry. I have nothing against Gasquet. I actually think he is a great player (Spinbalz just had an orgasm). I am just sick of the french narcissitic attitude. Spinbalz gets off on bragging about evrything that is French. I resent his holier than thou atitude and how the French look down on us. I resent the undeniable fact that Spinbalz called Americans fat and stupid. I resent you for constantly defending someone like Spinbalz...you obviously are not from the USA...but trust me....the French look down on you as well....they look down on everyone!.......

I just looked where you are from my friend! Montreal Canada!!!! No wonder you defend Frenchie every chance you get! UNBELIEVABLE!!! You guys dont even want to speak english and actually wanted to be seperated from English speaking Canada. UNBELIEVABLE. I have news for you my friend....the French look down on you as well!!!!! Not quite as much as they look down on us.....but you are not "really" French to them and therefore are ...how shall I say..."Creole." You are a second class citizen my friend.

Word. It doesnt matter EVEN if spinbalz likes nothing but French products and French players. We're all biased here on our favorite rackets/strings and favorite players. Some of you guys are downright close to religious too. I'd didn't see spinbalz talk trash about American players when asking a simple question about Gasquet. We're all fans of tennis. Get over it.

Exemples to prove that Pusher is wrong when he claims that I like only French players and products :

- In a recent post I wrote that Nadal should finish the year in the top 8 and qualify to the year end master, while in the same time I wrote about Gasquet his rival, that the young French player should finish the year only in the Top 50 or perhaps Top 25 if he continues to improve. Would a French guy more biased than average admit that nadal will have a better year than Gasquet? No, only someone who uses logic and good sense would wrote what I wrote about them.

- In a recent post asking who impresses you more between Nadal and Gasquet, I wrote that Gasquet have so long backswings on his groundstrokes that it should be a weakness on fast courts. Would a biased French guy wrote something like that about a French player.

- Not so long ago, I gave a very bad opinion about the Babolat Syntronic Brio string, and I've always been negative about the Babolat Pure Drive, add to that my countless posts supporting some Head and some Völkl racquets, or Luxilon, Ashaway, and Unique strings. Does someone who blindly support French products and ONLY French products would act like that?

- In a recent thread created by Pusher Terminator, I took the defense of Ivan Lendl, that Mr Pusher ranks as a lesser player than Becker. Is Ivan Lendl French?

Please OldschoolTennis, don't put me in the same waggon as Pusher when you say that we should stop complaining about races and countries, because he is the only one who complain about races and countries, he is the only one who constently attacks the other guy's race or country in several posts, he si the only one who places xenophobic comments agains French or Arabs, he is the only one who acts like a racist, personally I only complain about the way he acts and don't talk trash about his country, IT IS VERY DIFFERENT.

And finaly ragnaROK is right, we are all biased in certain ways, and I'm like everybody, I'm simply not anymore or anyless biased than average.

As is said: The truth hurts...

I was reading this old post about Gasquet and ran across this rant from Pusher Terminator.

The truth is, most Americans are quite fat and quite stupid. I think Pusher knows that, and was offended because the truth hurts.

And as one poster pointed out, regardless of his results, Richard Gasquet is far more interesting to watch play tennis than is Roddick, or Blake or any current American player.

BTW, I'm an American, a white Southerner by birth. I'm surrounded by fat stupid people of all races... but being white, I'm just more aware of the white ones. It's like I'm living in a giant hog farm.
